  • Patent number: 10159019
Abstract: A method for improving overall network performance and/or overall quality of service of user equipments in a mobile communication network includes in a first step, a base station entity, prior to executing a requested handover procedure, requests a user equipment to decode a cell global identifier of the target radio cell; in a second step, subsequent to the first step, the base station entity receives the decoded cell global identifier reported by the user equipment; and in a third step, subsequent to the second step, the base station entity determines which of further radio cells having the target physical cell identifier information and the target center frequency corresponds to the target radio cell, and initiates the handover procedure towards the target radio cell.

  • Patent number: 8750859
Abstract: A method for determining physical parameters of an antenna of a mobile network base station includes providing, using the antenna, a mobile radio cell of a mobile network. Cellular parameters of the mobile radio cell are measured using at least one of user equipments and further mobile network base stations. The cellular parameters are transmitted from the at least one of user equipments and further mobile network base stations to an antenna controller. Using the antenna controller, at least one of the physical parameters of the antenna is determined based on the cellular parameters and at least one of a history of the cellular parameters, as measured by the user equipments, and a history of physical parameters of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 8699496
Abstract: A method for guaranteeing the quality of services in packet-switching radio communications networks. The radio access network (RAN) and the core network (CN) use the quality of service information independently of one another, without signalling individual parameters, in order to guarantee the transmission of packets in the uplink and downlink according to the quality of service. This is achieved exclusively using local settings that have been configured for individual TCLs, permitting a radical reduction in complexity compared to conventional methods. The method is further simplified by the described interlinking of different tasks or the linking of such tasks to an existing data transmission.

  • Patent number: 8218441
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling resources in network elements of a communication network, in particular a data network or a mobile data network. The idea of the invention is the use of a data packet inspection for the Quality of Service (QoS) control in telecommunication networks. Based on information obtained from data packets, a network resource corresponding to the content of each data packet is provided in the network elements. A dynamic allowance for services and customer classes or quality and resource control is a novel possibility by means of the above application of packet inspection.
