  • Publication number: 20130179144
Abstract: A testing system can perform scalability testing on a target system, including automatically identifying a performance bottleneck component of the target system when the target system includes multiple components. The testing system can specify a target load of a specified component of the target system. The testing system can provide a simulated request to the target system and measure performance of the target system. Based on the measurement, the testing system can determine a scaling factor. The testing system can scale up the simulated request by the scaling factor, and determine whether one or more components of the target system have reached full capacity. The testing system can then adjust the scaling factor and the simulated request, until the testing system identifies a component of the target system that is a performance bottleneck of the target system when a specific number of requests are provided.

  • Publication number: 20130179401
Abstract: Methods, program products, and systems for checkpoint based progressive backup are described. When a system receives a request to update a page of a storage device storing database files of a database, the system can update the page and replicate the updated page in a shadow page in a backup queue. The backup queue can store multiple shadow pages, where each updated page can correspond to at most a specified number of shadow pages in the queue. Each shadow page can be associated with a timestamp of a latest update. At pre-specified temporal checkpoints, the system can write the shadow pages in the queue to a backup file in the order of the timestamps. Upon receiving a restoration request, the system can restore the database to a state as of the time of the checkpoint using the backup file.

  • Patent number: 8469156
Abstract: A sequential brake control device for a cycle has a sliding connector and a front delaying and anti-lock spring set to serve to sequentially actuate a brake. A left lever cable and a right lever cable are commonly connected to the sliding connector. A front brake cable passes through the sliding connector and the front delaying and anti-lock spring set and is mounted in a front brake cable block abutting against the front delaying and anti-lock spring set. A rear brake cable may alternatively pass through the sliding connector and a rear suspension spring and is mounted in a rear brake cable block abutting against the rear suspension spring. When one or both brake levers are squeezed, a rear wheel is stopped before the front wheel does. The front and rear wheels are slowed down in speed first when a brake is applied and fully stopped at a lower speed of the cycle.

  • Publication number: 20130006564
Abstract: A system is disclosed for providing backward and forward traceability by a methodology which identifies discrete components (die, substrate and/or passives) that are included in a semiconductor device. The present technology further includes a system for generating a unique identifier and marking a semiconductor device with the unique identifier enabling the semiconductor device, and the discrete components within that device, to be tracked and traced through each process and test in the production of the semiconductor device.

  • Publication number: 20120243581
Abstract: An advanced digital beam forming technique is achieved that is capable of simultaneously forming multiple beams and attenuating the cross-pol component at multiple locations. The proposed invention, comprising a series of signal inputs, optimization loops and weighting processes, successfully eliminates the side effect of an increase of the cross-pol in the process of beam-forming, thus reducing potential interference. This technique utilizes the orthogonally polarized signal component which is already available and can minimize both the horizontally polarized and vertically polarized cross-pol at the same time. The complexity of computation can be reduced by using only part of the orthogonal polarized components in the optimization.

  • Publication number: 20120063550
Abstract: A receiver with orthogonal beam forming technique is achieved that is capable of differentiating different signal components within the received composite signal. An adaptive processor is used to eliminate the signal component whose phase information is known or can be calculated. The phase information of the major component of a signal can be easily acquired by using a limiter. The phase information of other signal components can be acquired by their direction information and other characteristics, such as modulation scheme, etc. Multiple orthogonal beams can be formed by eliminating one unwanted signal component each time by the adaptive processor until all unwanted signal is eliminated. Thus, a composite signal from multiple sources can be broken down into their component signals.

  • Publication number: 20120028572
Abstract: A system for allowing ground terminals, specifically mobile ground terminals, to dynamically and electronically realign signal polarizations to match that of incoming and outgoing signal polarizations from designated space assets, specifically communications from satellites, comprising an adaptive re-orientation technique based on a cost minimization function, and a means of direct calculations of weighting components based on the knowledge of the orientation and bearing of both the satellites and the ground terminals. The embodiment will allow a mobile ground terminal to electronically realign itself to the signals of a satellite, without the need for mechanical processes to physically re-orient the antenna array.

  • Publication number: 20110032143
Abstract: An advanced multiple-beam fixed ground terminal is achieved that is capable of simultaneously tracking multiple inclined orbit satellites, increasing and suppressing gain in multiple directions. The fixed user terminal equipped with digital beam-forming and null-forming technique can track and identify signals from multiple inclined orbit satellites at the same time. This technique enables a geostationary satellite drift to an inclined orbit without losing communication with ground terminals which not only increase the life span of an inclined orbit satellite, but also relieve the scarcity of geo-stationary orbit. In extreme cases, satellite can be placed in the same slot which further enhanced the usage of geosynchronous orbits. Another present invention is to from double nulls whose null width is much wider than a single null. A wider null increases the system robustness to frequency drift and change of signal direction, thus in turn reduce the system's complexity by lowering update beam wave vectors.
