  • Patent number: 5441262
Abstract: A multidimensional puzzle. The puzzle includes a plurality of three-dimensional first object pieces having a contoured front surface. The object pieces are each representative of a thing with the contoured front surface having a shape identified with the thing represented by the object piece. A background defines a plurality of recesses each shaped to receive one of the object pieces with the contoured surface projecting from the recess. The background includes a plurality of second pieces. The puzzle also includes identification indicia associated with each of the recesses identifying one of the things represented by the object pieces to thereby indicate which of the object pieces the recess is shaped to receive.

  • Patent number: 4941634
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting eyeglasses to an object, the apparatus having a shaped body including a slot defined by at least one composite resilient finger, the finger and body including a U-shaped spring means embedded within the body and finger and surrounding the slot to resiliently bias the finger to a position closely proximate the body. The slot receiving and holding eyeglass bridges of different sizes. The finger and body are formed of a material which is soft and compliant relative to plastic eyeglass materials to resist scratching eyeglasses. A jaw is also provided for securing the body to an object.

  • Patent number: 4834212
Abstract: A human sound muffler and indicator for placement around the mouth of a user to absorb most of the sound emanating from the user's mouth including a microphone and associated electrical circuit for receiving unabsorbed sound and providing an indication of the intensity of the unabsorbed sound.

  • Patent number: 4820203
Abstract: An electrical connector for making connections between first and second sets of conductors, comprising a housing, a plurality of contact pins for connection to respective conductors of each of the first and second sets, and a removable module comprising one or more electronic components which are electrically connected to one or more of the contact pins. The module may comprise components which protect sensitive electrical equipment, connected directly or indirectly to the connector, from a potentially damaging electrical event, for example by comprising a switch which opens to conduct such an event to ground.

  • Patent number: 4706597
Abstract: A foldable boat is made with a seamless low stress hull that is formed from a one piece mold. The boat is assembled with membranes at the bow, stern and sides to seal the boat from water and to enable easy folding. The bow and stern membranes also serve to keep the sides from folding out. A hinged bottom and a hinged side-to-bottom section afford ease of folding and provide substantial resistance to bending after assembly of the boat. Bow and stern boards, side boards and seat boards provide rigidity, reduced slack and act as supports for the boat sections. The boat includes a railing that is locked to the sides and side boards so that migration of the side boards is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4671028
Abstract: An intrinsically hinged structural member is disclosed which can easily be bent, rolled or folded in one direction while exhibiting high resistance to bending, rolling or folding in the opposite direction. The general form of the structural member comprises a continuous side wall, a plurality of inner walls and a segmented outer wall. The inner walls confining cavities extending through the member. The slits in the segment outer wall define confronting faces which when forced together under stress exhibit a high resistance to any further bending or folding of the segment wall. Preferably, the confronting faces are complementary; the complementary faces which comprise male and female portions may periodically alternate from one side of the slit to the other to provide further resistance to torsional stress.

  • Patent number: 4426755
Abstract: A quick release mechanism for a girth band having a plurality of coupling portions with high lead angle threaded surfaces that engage and automatically unscrew when tension is applied to the girth band unless an arm disposed on one of the coupling portions is prevented from rotating with respect to the other coupling portions.
