  • Patent number: 5194280
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a concentrate from juice that may be used to make a powder that can be reconstituted as a juice drink by addition of water to the powder or to make a taffy-like solid that may be consumed without being reconstituted and in which the juice is freeze or spray dried, includes the use of lubricants and/or dextran to improve the texture of the dried juice so that it may be packaged and stored for later consumption.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 18, 1991
Date of Patent: March 16, 1993
Assignee: F & MP Research & Development Laboratories, Inc.
    Inventor: Frank M. Palermiti
  • Patent number: 5118517
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a powder that may be reconstituted as a fruit drink by addition of water to the powder includes the use of dextran as a drying agent for the fruit juice that is to be rendered to powder. The dextran should be of high purity and have a predetermined molecular weight in the range of 10,000 to 40,000,000. The amount of dextran dissolved in the fruit juice may range from about one-tenth to equal parts by weight of the total carbohydrate content of the fruit juice, and is inversely related to the predetermined molecular weight.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 2, 1992
Assignee: F&MP Research and Development Laboratories, Inc.
    Inventor: Frank M. Palermiti
  • Patent number: 4569609
Abstract: A multi-strike (typewriter) ribbon comprising a web of synthetic resinous material having top and bottom surfaces with an ink coating on the top surface of the web and a back layer on the bottom surface of the web, the back layer providing a clean, frictional surface which provides good contact with the drive apparatus which drives the printing ribbon as it performs a printing function.

  • Patent number: 4342043
Abstract: A system for reliably feeding individual sheets of recording media is disclosed especially as such system is related to media suitable for electrosensitive recording such as in a facsimile or other device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 11, 1980
Date of Patent: July 27, 1982

Inventors: Frank M. Palermiti, Ronald F. Schley
  • Patent number: 4339504
Abstract: An improved multilayer electrosensitive recording medium is disclosed comprising a low density polyethylene in one or more of the layers. By using low density polyethylene as a binder in one or more of the layers of an electrosensitive recording medium, the problem of burn-off odor is reduced or eliminated. Pigments such as carbon black and modifiers such as surfactants may also be added to the particular layer.Particular embodiments are disclosed in which the polyethylene layer or layers are formed by the application of a dispersion of low density polyethylene. The dispersion mixture also includes modifying agents and pigments. After coating the dispersion the solvent is evaporated off and the coating is warmed so that any remaining solvent may be evaporated and the coating particles may form a layer.
