    Abstract: A heel-lock support strapping system for use in sandals, slipper type shoes, low-cut shoes, boots, and like footwear. A heel support strap is wound from the heel end portion of the footwear and thence over the instep of the foot of a wearer and under the arch of said foot at least one time, and thence back over the instep, with the two ends of the strap then being releasably secured together. The heel support strap forms a figure eight from an anchored position at the heel end portion of the footwear.
