  • Publication number: 20230350008
Abstract: A radar sensor. The radar sensor includes an antenna device which at least emits a radar signal, an integrated high frequency component which generates the radar signal, a waveguide structure which transmits the radar signal between the antenna device and the integrated high frequency component and includes at least one waveguide, a signal transmission path for transmitting a local oscillator signal, on which the generated radar signal is based, within the radar sensor. At least portions of the signal transmission path are disposed within the waveguide structure.

  • Publication number: 20230213612
Abstract: A method for estimating noise in a radar sensor, which generates a digital spectrum which indicates a received signal strength as a function of at least one discrete locating parameter, and on this spectrum a CFAR detection is carried out to decide whether an examined cell in the locating space contains a genuine radar target or just noise and a determination of a noise level is also carried out on the basis of the signal strengths in a selection of neighboring cells in the vicinity of the examined cell. The CFAR detection precedes the determination of the noise level and cells identified in the CFAR detection as target cells are excluded from the selection of the neighboring cells.

  • Publication number: 20230008816
Abstract: A radar system for motor vehicles, with a plurality of transmit/receive units arranged on separate installation supports for installation at various locations in the motor vehicle, an evaluation system for evaluating the radar signals received on a plurality of channels in a plurality of processing steps, a first processing step delivering a digital time signal for each channel, which digital time signal represents the received radar signal, and a final processing step delivering as the result location data for individual radar objects and at least the final processing step being implemented for the plurality of transmit/receive units in a central evaluation unit with which the transmit/receive units in each case communicate via a raw data interface. The each of raw data interfaces has a serializer, which is configured to transfer raw data from the plurality of channels of the transmit/receive unit in question serially to the central evaluation unit.

  • Patent number: 11422806
Abstract: A method for parallelized processing of elements of a first vector R using processors 1 through k includes steps of a) loading a first non-loaded element of the first vector R into processor 1; (b) loading the next non-loaded element of the first vector R in processor 1; (c) parallel processing of loaded elements by the processors; (d) transmitting the loaded elements of the first vector R from processors 1 through k?1 to the respectively next processor 2 through k; (e) loading the next non-loaded element of the first vector R in processor 1; and (f) returning to step c if not all elements of the first vector R were loaded and processed.

  • Publication number: 20220091226
Abstract: A method for evaluating radar signals in a radar system including multiple sensor units, which are each capable of detecting objects in the surroundings of the radar system, the detection areas of the sensor units at least overlapping one another. In the method, each sensor unit calculates a short message from the radar signals received by it, whose data volume is smaller than the complete detection result, but which at least contains data which allow for the identification of potential objects and for the determination of a probability that the potential object is a real object, and at least one evaluation instance receives the entirety of all short messages of all sensor units and, on the basis of these short messages and selected detection results of the sensor units, calculates a consolidated detection result.
