    Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a speed of a vehicle using a Pulse and Glide (PnG) operation whereby the speed of the vehicle is controlled about a reference speed. The PnG operation comprises a pulse-phase during which the speed of the vehicle is increased to a first speed, higher than the reference speed, followed by a glide-phase during which the speed of the vehicle is allowed to decrease to a second speed, lower than the reference speed. When the PnG operation is being carried out and a speed reduction operation is commenced to decrease the speed lower than the reference speed, the method comprises adjusting the PnG operation such that the speed reduction to the decreased speed is carried out immediately following a speed increase in the pulse-phase to at least the first speed, wherein no propulsive torque is applied during the speed decrease.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method performed by a control arrangement for controlling a speed of a first vehicle comprising a plurality of brake systems configured to provide brake power for braking the vehicle. The method comprises, when a downhill road section is to be travelled, and when a second vehicle is travelling in front of the first vehicle predicting a plurality of minimum distances corresponding to different brake powers to be applied by at least one of the plurality of brake systems when approaching and/or travelling the downhill road section, each minimum distance constituting a resulting minimum distance to the second vehicle. The method further comprises applying, by at least one of the plurality of brake systems, a brake power corresponding to the brake power to be applied to obtain the minimum distance of the plurality of minimum distances such that at least a predetermined minimum distance to the second vehicle is maintained when approaching and/or travelling the downhill road section.

The method comprises, when the vehicle is travelling in an uphill slope using an initial gear of the vehicle's automated manual transmission gearbox: simulating at least one speed profile for a downshift to, and a usage of, at least one gear; determining that a minimal speed of each one of the at least one simulated speed profile has a value indicating that the actual speed of the vehicle will be less than or equal to zero in the uphill slope; opening a clutch before is reduced to a value less than zero; activating at least one vehicle brake; shifting vehicle's automated manual transmission gearbox to a start gear; closing the clutch; and deactivating the at least one vehicle brake.

    Abstract: A combination nozzle and a device for applying a viscous material, particularly an adhesive, to a component edge includes two wide-slot nozzles lying close to one another. The first nozzle applies the viscous material and the second nozzle supplies a gas such as air for shaping the applied material bead. A nozzle mount has a guide roller placed on and movable about the edge of the component during application. A connector element via a connecting mechanism allows movement of the nozzle mount parallel to the surface normal on the component edge to press the guide roller against the edge during the application process by a spring mechanism. With the proposed combination nozzle and the proposed device, an optimal wetting of the component edge with the viscous material can be achieved, and additionally the component tolerances are compensated without the necessity of an elaborate sensor system.
