    Abstract: An implementation for a user at a receiving Web station keeping track of logged on Web sites, and a convenient universal logoff interface button to logoff the logged on Web site. The combination of an implementation at a receiving display station generating a GUI including a universal logout button, means associated with said logout button for enabling a user to select a Web site for logout and means at said receiving station responsive to said selection of a Web site for logging said receiving station out of said Web site. The Web browser tracks the Web sites that the user is logged onto, and upon interactive request by the user a menu of logged on Web sites is provided in association with the displayed logoff button.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are provided for controlling presentation of instant messages to a recipient in a data processing system. Embodiments include establishing threshold priority criteria, receiving an instant message, determining whether the instant message meets the threshold priority criteria, and presenting to the recipient the instant message if the instant message meets the threshold priority criteria. Determining whether the instant message meets the threshold priority criteria may be carried out by identifying attributes of the instant message and determining whether the attributes of the instant message meet the threshold priority criteria in dependence upon criteria evaluation rules.

    Abstract: Provided is a system and method for persisting data from an instant messaging session. The method includes opening an instant messaging client, connecting with a server hosting an instant messaging service, logging into the server, identifying an instant messaging session as persistent, upon exiting, receiving a message asking whether persistent data should be downloaded to the client; and receiving the persistent data from the instant messaging session. Another embodiment is directed to a computer system including a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and an instant messaging client configured to run via the processor and memory, the instant messaging client configured to identify predetermined instant messaging sessions as persistent and store the instant messaging session in the memory.

    Abstract: There may be circumstances under which the user may wish the convenience of being able to insert a textual block into the file of a particular document without having to open the file of the receiving document and displaying the receiving document. Indicating a block of data in a displayed document to be copied to another selected document in combination with locating the data file of this selected target document and then copying the indicated block of data into the file of the selected target document without displaying this target document during the copying. Since the target document file is not opened so that the target document may be displayed, it is preferable that a position in the file of the target document be preselected and the textual data block being transferred placed at that preselected position.
