  • Publication number: 20220170460
Abstract: A radial piston machine includes a rotor within a housing that is rotatable about an axis, a shaft coupled to the rotor, a distributor which surrounds the shaft and cannot rotate with the rotor and that contacts the rotor in an axial direction, a plurality of brake discs including first brake discs and second brake discs arranged side-by-side along the axis, wherein the first brake discs are coupled to the housing for torque transmission, and the second brake discs are coupled to the shaft for torque transmission, and an actuator configured to releasably exert a brake force in the axial direction on the brake discs. The distributor is located axially between the rotor and the actuator, and the brake discs are located axially between the distributor and the actuator. When the brake force is exerted the brake force is supported by the distributor in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 6311787
Abstract: A drill 30 for driving a bit 44 into a workpiece 50 includes an assembled anvil 58 and spindle 38, which are mounted for rotation together and for axial movement together within a drill housing 32. A planet carrier 56 is driven by a motor 52 and, in turn rotatingly drives the anvil 58 and the spindle 38. A chuck 42 is attached to a forward end of the spindle 58 for rotation and axial movement therewith. A plurality of rollers 162 are mounted in nests 182 of a roller cage 176, are maintained in parallel with an axis of the drill 30, and the anvil 58. The rollers 162, which are included in an automatic spindle lock 33, can be wedged between a fixed surface 74 of the drill housing 32 and a movable surface 102 of the anvil for automatically locking the spindle 38 with the housing. Following withdrawal of the bit 44 from the workpiece 50, an automatic brake 35 provides facility for braking the spindle 38.

  • Patent number: 4983080
Abstract: A tool bit such as a screw driving bit for use with a rotary power tool is conventiently stored in a cavity in the rotary power tool housing when not in use in a power tool chuck. The tool bit is retained in the recess by frictional engagement with a retainer spring. A push-button protruding from the rotary tool housing communicates with the bit holding cavity and retainer spring in a manner such that, upon depression of the push-button, the retainer spring is moved out of frictional engagement with the bit to enable its release from the storage cavity.

  • Patent number: 4647260
Abstract: A depth-adjusting system for a power tool includes a housing nose portion on which is snapped a two-piece, molded plastic depth-adjusting subassembly. Each member of the subassembly engages a respective area of the nose portion. An adjustment member is rotatably connected to the nose portion, but is releasably restrained from axial movement upon engagement with a split-ring detent on the nose portion. A locator member is threadably connected inside the adjustment member, but is restained from rotating through the interaction of integral keys formed on its interior cylindrical surface with mating longitudinal keyways formed on the nose portion. Thus when the operator rotates the adjustment member, the locator member is forced to move axially forwardly or rearwardly, depending upon the direction of rotation of the adjustment member.
