  • Patent number: 4413927
Abstract: An element for use in concrete pile casting to align coupling members on end fittings during the pile casting operation. The end fittings have key grooves, each such groove designed, when two concrete pile sections are to be joined together, to receive therein a locking key to interconnect the end fitting at one of the ends of a concrete pile section with a matching end fitting at the opposed end of the other pile section. At the bottom of each key groove is formed a through-passage with a recessed seat therein to accommodate the coupling member which rests freely in the seat and which is coupled to a reinforcement iron rod extending lengthwise through the concrete pile. The aligning element comprises a presser means extending through a support member which is placed in one of the key grooves. The presser means is arranged to be pressed against the free end of the coupling member while the side faces of the key groove serve as back-up faces to said support member.

  • Patent number: 4272875
Abstract: A device for use in casting concrete piles in a mold consisting of a bottom section and two side walls. The piles are formed with lengthwise reinforcement rods, on the ends of which are attached interconnecting members passing through the end fittings of the pile. The device is characterized by an alignment member arranged to be positioned in the mold. Abutment faces on the alignment member are arranged in engagement with the side walls and the bottom section of the mold at right angles to the longitudinal extension thereof. The alignment member is provided with shoulders forming points of abutment for engagement with the ends of the interconnecting members. A pulling means is arranged to engage in the center of said end fitting members and with the aid of a support means provided in said alignment member to urge the ends of the interconnecting members into abutment against the shoulders of the alignment member, when said tightening means is tightened.

  • Patent number: 4196557
Abstract: An improved joint for end-to-end connection of elongated concrete elements by means of coupling members and connecting elements. The coupling member comprises a sleeve section intended to be threaded on or otherwise secured to reinforcement rods of the elongated concrete elements, such as concrete piles, to be joined together, and a tube section, preferably provided with a head. The connecting element is arranged to engage the stub sections of two oppositely disposed coupling members, thus joining together the elongated elements associated therewith.
