  • Patent number: 6178718
Abstract: Packaging machine for the production of packs having at least one wrapping consisting of packaging material, the wrapping being provided with a changeable print, in particular a code. A printing mechanism (11) having printing tools (25, 26) serves for applying printing characters or codes to packaging material. These printing tools must be capable of being actuated at short time intervals in order to adapt the code. For this purpose, a printing roller (14) receiving the printing tools (25, 26) can be moved out of a working position into an adjusting position.

  • Patent number: 5674542
Abstract: In the production of hinge-lid packs with rounded or polygonal longitudinal edges, the collar, which is conventional in hinge-lid packs, has to be adapted in the region of the edges (14, 15) formed between collar front wall (11) and collar side tabs (12, 13). For this purpose, a pre-processing of the blanks (10) for the collar in the region of the edges (14, 15) is required. In order to attain a high performance in the production or processing of the blanks, the blanks (10) severed from the web of material (17) are transported, and held during the transport, by an endless blank conveyor (38) including a belt conveyor (23) and an upper conveyor (24).

  • Patent number: 5311800
Abstract: An apparatus for severing (collar) blanks from a web of material is disclosed. Knife rollers (10) which are provided with knife edges (17) are used to sever blanks of (thin) cardboard from a web. A knife roller (10) is pressed against a counter roller (11). For this purpose, there are provided resiliently adjustable pressure elements (30). The pressure is exerted on the counter roller (11) in the region of annular supporting elements, in particular annular rims (18). The annular rims (18) for exerting pressure are designed such that they are slightly resiliently compressible in the region of contact with the counter roller (11). For this purpose, the annular rims are especially designed to be Z-shaped in cross section.
