  • Patent number: 11968271
Abstract: Systems and methods for sender profile and/or recipient profile disambiguation and/or confirmation are disclosed. In instances where a sender profile is not indicated by a user sending a communication from a communal device, heuristic data may be utilized to infer the sender profile. Similar heuristic data may also be used when selection of the sender profile is associated with a low confidence level. Heuristic data may also be used to infer the recipient profile when the user does not indicate the recipient profile or when selection of the recipient profile is associated with a low confidence. Various confirmations may result from the sender and recipient profile disambiguation.

  • Patent number: 11960189
Abstract: This disclosure provides spacers for smart windows. In one aspect, a window assembly includes a first substantially transparent substrate having an optically switchable device on a surface of the first substrate. The optically switchable device includes electrodes. A first electrode of the electrodes has a length about the length of a side of the optically switchable device. The window assembly further includes a second substantially transparent substrate a metal spacer between the first and the second substrates. The metal spacer has a substantially rectangular cross section, with one side of the metal spacer including a recess configured to accommodate the length of the first electrode such that there is no contact between the first electrode and the metal spacer. A primary seal material bonds the first substrate to the metal spacer and bonds the second substrate to the metal spacer.

  • Patent number: 8205804
Abstract: A flexible fluid delivery line with an end fitting retention bracket is disclosed for use during installation of an irrigation or sprinkler system. The retention bracket is malleable along its length and facilitates the positioning and orientation of a sprinkler head or other fluid delivery device with respect to the surrounding ground level. The retention bracket has two annular sleeves connected by a malleable elongate member. Through the pair of annular sleeves passes a semi-flexible riser. The annular sleeves are configured to substantially match the external circumference of the end fittings and retain the fitting therein. The retention bracket may be bent to suit various installation angles. The retention bracket prevents undesired turning or displacement of the end fittings during installation/use/removal of a sprinkler head.

  • Patent number: 8092590
Abstract: The invention relates to a mineral, hydraulic binder for producing concrete or mortars or cement suspensions, based on at least one cement. The cement comprises clinker phases such as, C3S, C2S, C3A, and C4AF, which on reaction with water form hydrate phases that cure to form hardened cement. The cement displays a delay phase after mixing with water of some hours, e.g. from 4 to 8 hours, during which time no appreciable curing reaction takes place. The binder further comprises at least one finely divided SiO2 component and at least one finely divided CaO component, which react with make-up water during the delay phase to form calcium silicate hydrate phases that cure as a result of a pozzolanic reaction and produce early strength.

  • Patent number: 4706899
Abstract: A granulator for comminuting scrap material has an improved rotor blade assembly. The granulator is of the type having a pair of spaced-apart, parallel bed knives mounted stationarily in the granulator. An arcuate perforated screen is mounted below the bed knives for the passage of comminuted material through apertures in the screen. A rotor axle is mounted between and parallel with the bed knives. At least one blade is mounted on the axle for rotation with the axle. The blade has a peripheral contour with a plurality of spaced-apart cutting tongues extending outward. The cutting tongues define a circular path closely spaced to the bed knives and screen for shearing scrap.

  • Patent number: 4355765
Abstract: A granulator for comminuting plastic web scrap has features that allow it to also granulate three dimensional objects. The granulator has a pair of nip rollers mounted above a cutter assembly for drawing the web into the cutter assembly. The nip rollers have grabbing devices for grabbing three dimensional objects when they fall onto the rollers, for shredding the objects and forcing them between the rollers. In one embodiment, the grabbing device consists of a groove formed in the surface of at least one of the rollers. The groove has a sharp-edged trailing surface that grabs the article. In another embodiment, the grabbing device consists of a protruding finger that grabs the article. To provide clearance, a circumferential slot is located in the other roller for receiving the finger.

  • Patent number: 4281801
Abstract: A device for granulating objects into particles has a false bottom for improving collection of particles. The device includes a housing with a cutter assembly located in the housing for granulating the objects into particles. A blower is connected to the housing for removing the particles from the housing. The false bottom consists of a downwardly facing channel carried between the cutter assembly and the bottom of the housing. Spaces exist between the bottom of the housing and the edges of the channel for the admission of particles to the space below the channel. The blower is connected to one end to create air movement through the channel for removing the particles.

  • Patent number: 4161296
Abstract: An apparatus for granulating articles into particles for reuse, having a force feed mechanism that urges the articles into the grinder chamber. The apparatus has a chute for inserting articles, and the grinder chamber encloses rotor knives that are rotated past stationary knives. The force feed assembly is mounted above the grinder chamber and includes a rotating shaft driven by a motor separate from the grinder assembly motors. A series of plates are mounted to the shaft at intervals. The plates have teeth on the edge for grabbing and tearing articles. Webs are mounted between the plates for pushing the articles into the grinder chamber.

  • Patent number: 4026273
Abstract: A solar fluid heater including a radiation trap for concentrating solar radiation which has been focused on or near a line at the center of a transparent pipe assembly containing the fluid to be heated is described. The pipe assembly may include one or more transparent pipes containing one or more sets of reflective fins which are disposed in direct heat exchanging contact with the fluid to be heated. The focused radiation entering the pipe assembly experiences multiple reflections off one set of reflective fins therein, thus concentrating the solar radiation. The reflective fins are made absorptive near the apex to provide for absorption of the solar radiation, thereby converting it to heat. The fins are in direct contact with the fluid to be heated, thus, maximizing the transfer of heat to the fluid.
