  • Patent number: 4094566
Abstract: Multi-contact electrical connector comprises a housing and cover members. The housing has a mating end, a rearward end, and laterally facing sides which extend between the mating and rearward ends. Contact terminals are contained in the housing and arranged in parallel rows which extend across the laterally facing sides. Each terminal has a wire-receiving portion which is dimensioned to receive a wire and establish electrical contact therewith upon movement of the wire laterally of its axis and into the wire-receiving portion. An electrical commoning means extends across the sides of the housing adjacent to the rearward end thereof and also has spaced-apart wire-receiving portions for reception of ground wires in a cable. The cover members are dimensioned such that they can be assembled to the side surfaces of the housing and each cover member has wire-receiving grooves or channels therein in which the wires of the cable can be positioned prior to assembly of the cover members to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4051383
Abstract: Electrical harness comprises a plurality of conductors to which switches and electrical loads are connected. The connections between the conductors and loads or switches are made with a connecting device comprising an insulating body having a recess which receives the conductors in side-by-side parallel relationship. A conductor to which a connection is made is electrically exposed and a contact arm mounted on the body extends across the recess and contacts the exposed conductor. The load or switch is connected to the contact arm by a plug on the end of a lead wire which is inserted into the body and which engages the contact arm when it is inserted.

  • Patent number: 4040709
Abstract: Lighting unit assembly which is adapted to be mounted in a panel comprises a housing having wall portions which define a plurality of enclosures, each enclosure surrounding a lamp bulb mounting site. The lamp bulbs are mounted in removable lamp bulb connectors which have contact terminals which are in contact with the bulb and are also in disengageable contact with terminals in a tap connector. The tap connectors are mounted in the housing adjacent to the lamp bulb sites and the conductors extend through these tap connector housings and are electrically connected to the tap connector terminals. The lighting unit assembly is completely pre-wired and assembled so that when it is inserted into a panel, a harness connector on the conductors in the assembly can be immediately coupled to a complementary harness connector.

  • Patent number: 4021604
Abstract: A connector for affixing a flexible conduit having external helical grooves to an electrical junction box is disclosed. The connector comprises a stamped and formed metallic retaining clip in conjunction with a rigid housing. The clip engages the helical grooves and also establishes contact with a circular hole in one face of the junction box. Both a secure mechanical and electrical connection are established so that the metallic conduit and the metallic junction box can serve as a continuous electrical ground. A straight-through and a right angle version of the connector are disclosed. The retaining clip is mounted in the housing so that the connector snaps into the circular hole and can be removed without damage.

  • Patent number: 3985416
Abstract: An electrical connector for commoning a plurality of conductors, such as insulated wires, employs two similar mating insulating housings and a terminal plate formed from a resilient conductive metal. Conductor contact means such as parallel edge slots extend inwardly from two opposed edges of the terminal plate. The terminal plate is mounted in recesses formed in the housings and wire supporting passages traverse the recesses so that the electrical connection can be established between the various conductors and the terminal plate.
