  • Patent number: 11712273
Abstract: Various surgical instruments, implants, and their methods of use are disclosed. The surgical instruments are usable to insert various implants into a patient through an access portal in a minimally-invasive manner. The implants are rotatable between different orientations using the instruments to change the footprint of the implant and allow the implant to be inserted through the minimally-invasive access portal.

  • Patent number: 11173047
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a body having a proximal end and a distal end and defining a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end along an axis, the distal end configured to abut an implant, and an anchor rod disposable within the lumen of the body for contacting the implant to secure the implant at the distal end of the body. When the anchor rod is disposed within the lumen of the body in a working configuration, the anchor rod is connected to the body at the proximal end of the body and at the distal end of the body to substantially fix the anchor rod from moving along the axis of the lumen. The body includes a handle, a shaft extending distally from the handle, and a torque limiting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9772172
Abstract: A tool capable of creating and measuring circles and circular profiles of any size without the need for a pivoting center arm. Circle size can be selectively adjusted and held, and both the inside and outside of tool creates and measures circles of a near infinite number of size. The tool contains marking rules such as radius, diameter, arc length, circumference, sector area, area of a circle for any size circle, etc., obviating the need for calculating the same, and any or a combination of unit measure systems can be employed.

  • Patent number: 8250771
Abstract: A multifunctional ruler and protractor tool with the ability to form and scale a near infinite number of geometric shapes. The tool comprises both a standalone ruler and protractor unit. Rulers are capable of being added to each other successively, creating straight ruler assemblies of virtually any length. The protractor unit can be slid onto a single ruler or a straight ruler assembly containing any number of consecutively connected rulers, and is capable of fastening another ruler to its sides by a quick connect/disconnect mechanism. The protractor component of the protractor unit pivots, allowing for the creation of angles between rulers that are laterally fastened and slidably engaged to it. The sliding lock on the protractor unit can arrest both rotational and translational motion of the protractor unit along any ruler, if it is manipulated to do so. Multiple rulers and protractors can be connected to form both open and closed, regular and irregular, polygons, and other sided geometric shapes.

  • Patent number: 8104614
Abstract: A case for storing medical instruments contains a rotating bracket for holding the instruments. The bracket is connected to the tray and hinged lid of the case via a movable frame, and the bracket movement is controlled by opening and closing of the lid. When the lid is closed, the bracket points the tips of the instruments downward to minimize water collection; and when the lid is opened, the instrument holding bracket rotates so that the instruments it holds are moved to a vertical position, facilitating instrument selection.

  • Publication number: 20100256646
Abstract: A tool for delivering bio-compatible solid, fluid or mixed solid and fluid substances to an operating site within a patient. The tool has a tubular body or barrel with a central longitudinal through hole and a flow control valve for selectively allowing material to flow from a holding chamber within the barrel through an extender tip to a dispensing end of the tool. A plunger having a piston at one end may be inserted through the dispensing end of the barrel and drawn distally to aspirate material into the holding chamber using a syringe attached to the proximal end of the barrel, after which the valve is closed to retain the material in the chamber. The plunger, which fits into the through hole from either end of the barrel, is then removed and re-inserted into the proximal end of the barrel, the barrel valve is opened, and the plunger is pushed to move the material in the holding chamber through the extender tip and out the distal end of the barrel.
