  • Publication number: 20090081444
Abstract: A porous metal foam body obtainable by applying one or more layers of molten metal to an open-pore non-metallic substrate and allowing the molten metal to penetrate into the open pores of said non-metallic substrate to form a metal foam body whose metal component has at least partially penetrated into said open-pore non-metallic substrate. Said open-pore metal foam body is prepared by a process in which an open-pore non-metallic substrate is provided and coated with a molten metal, and the molten metal penetrates into the open pores of the open-pore non-metallic substrate. The metal foam bodies can be employed in many fields of technology.

  • Publication number: 20090001141
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for arc or beam brazing/welding of workpieces (A) made of steel, cast iron, nickel, cadmium, beryllium, titanium, molybdenum, magnesium, aluminum, copper, lead, zinc, tin, hard metal and alloys thereof with workpieces (B) made of steel, cast iron, nickel, cadmium, beryllium, titanium, molybdenum, magnesium, aluminum, copper, lead, zinc, tin, hard metal and alloys thereof, wherein said workpieces (A) and (B) may consist of identical or different metals or metal alloys, using a fused additional metal alloy, characterized by the following steps: a) positioning the workpieces to be joined; b) fusing the additional metal alloy containing an SnZn, SnAg, SnZnAg, SnCu, SnCuAg, SnZnCu or SnZnCuAg alloy; c) applying the fused additional metal alloy on the contact surfaces or partial areas of the contact surfaces between the positioned workpieces; and d) cooling the joined workpieces; steps b) and c) being carried out one immediately after the other.

  • Patent number: 7329828
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inert gas welding or inert gas soldering of workpieces (A) made of steel, aluminum, magnesium, copper, or the alloys thereof with workpieces (B) made of steel, aluminum, magnesium, copper, or the alloys thereof by using an additional molten metal alloy, workpieces (A) and (B) being made of identical or different metals or metal alloys. The inventive method is characterized by the following steps: a) the workpieces that are to be connected are contacted edge to edge or in an overlapping manner; b) the additional metal alloy containing a Zn/Al alloy is fused; c) the additional molten metal alloy is applied to the contact points or partial areas of the contact points of the contacted workpieces; d) the connected workpieces are cooled. Steps b) and c) are carried out immediately after one another while at least steps b) and c) are carried out by using an inert gas. The invention further relates to a wire that is used in said method.

  • Publication number: 20070048533
Abstract: A process for preparing a multilayer surface protection coating for reinforced concrete for improving the corrosion protection of reinforced concrete structures or reinforced concrete construction parts which bear a first layer sprayed onto said reinforced concrete, substantially made of zinc, which is connected with the metal armoring of said reinforced concrete in an electrically conductive way and a second layer of a polymeric material is characterized in that: said second layer of low-viscosity polymers is applied to said first layer of zinc in the form of a continuous film; and a surface protection layer is applied on top thereof. Further, there is disclosed a multilayer surface protection coating for reinforced concrete for improving the corrosion protection of reinforced concrete structures capable of bearing vehicles or reinforced concrete construction parts by layers present on the surface of said reinforced concrete, obtainable by the process according to the invention.
