  • Publication number: 20090188112
Abstract: A shaving razor cartridge having a platform with a front edge and a back edge and a pair of opposing side edges; and a plurality of main blades, each having a shaving edge, attached to the platform in a stacked fashion such that the shaving edge of each of the main blades faces the front edge of the platform. The main blades are arranged in a plurality of modular pairs, each modular pair having a rigid spacer separating the blades, and each modular pair of blades is separately attached to the platform.

  • Patent number: 7152512
Abstract: A shaving system comprising a razor handle having a razor cartridge pivotally connected thereto, the normal shaving process causing the razor cartridge to be pivoted to a first, upwardly pivoted, position and a second, downwardly pivoted, position, the razor handle comprising flexible spring fingers extending toward each other having cam followers for engaging a cam surface on an underside of the razor cartridge, the cam followers providing a biasing force on the cam surface such that the pivoted cartridge is returned to a neutral position.

  • Patent number: 6473970
Abstract: A blade cartridge including one or more blades fixed between a platform member and a cap member. The blades have apertures that allow lubricants removed from a surface of a shaver by the cutting edge of the blade to be transported through the blade and supplied to the cutting edge of the adjacent blade or to a skin engaging surface of the cap member, whichever the case may be. The apertures in the blades define flow paths that allow lubricants to reach successive cutting edges or skin engaging surfaces, thereby reducing irritation to the shaver. The blades are spaced apart by spacers that are constructed with passages that allow the free flow of lubricant through adjacent flow paths. The cap member includes passages that allow the free flow of lubricating agents through the flow paths to the skin engaging surface of the cap member.

  • Patent number: 6276062
Abstract: A blade cartridge including three or more blades fixed between a platform member and a cap member. The present invention provides improved triple blade geometry where five contact surfaces with the skin are considered, including the edges of each of the blades, a skin contacting surface on the guard member and a skin contacting surface on the cap member. The five contacting surfaces are oriented at an equal distance from a common axis in order to ensure that the shaving forces normal to the contacting surfaces are shared by all of the contacting surfaces. The arrangement of the present invention provides optimal blade geometry, thereby producing a close and comfortable shave. Additionally, the blades of the present invention are movable to a less aggressive position in response to applied shaving forces.
