  • Patent number: 4955845
Abstract: A game calling device is provided which enables the distraction-free simulation of the sounds made by wild game using only one hand to operate. The device includes a support structure having a trough portion and a friction plate positioned within the trough; a call generator comprising the friction plate, a handle block and a striker positioned within the handle block for longitudinal displacement from a beginning position along the friction plate so as to generate a game call; and a spring linking the support structure with the handle block and the striker portion of the call generator to return the striker to a beginning position, thereby completing a cycle of alternating lognitudinal movement. A flexible pouch is provided to enclose the device.

  • Patent number: 4483097
Abstract: A game caller has a size and a wafer-like shape for support against the roof of a user's mouth and includes two diaphragms that are supported in spaced apart relation by a frame in one embodiment and two frames in a different embodiment. A further embodiment provides that a frame is divided into portions for holding and spacing the diaphragms. Each diaphragm is tensioned and held to present an exposed edge portion which is caused to vibrate by impingement with exhausted pulmonary air from the user. A casing engages the exposed parts of the frame and extends outwardly therefrom to hold the assembly together as a unit.

  • Patent number: 4003159
Abstract: A game call includes a rod-shaped striker member and a unitary sounder made up of a carrier having a U-shaped cross section and a sounder board also having a U-shaped cross section. The sounder board includes a sounder head having an elongated striker plate adhered to the top surface thereof while nested within the hollowed-out area formed by the U-shaped cross section of the carrier to thereby define an open-ended sound slot by the gap extending between the U-shaped configurations of the carrier and the sounder board.

  • Patent number: 3968592
Abstract: A game caller is shown including a diaphragm assembly that is vibrated in opposite directions by rapid bursts of air from a bellows. The only opening in the bellows is tubular and it is attached to one end of an elongated tubular housing where an end cap holds the diaphragm assembly onto the housing. The free end of the tubular housing permanently carries a cone-shaped megaphone forming a sound amplifier. A tubular cloth case has one end secured to the outer surface of the housing and the other end has a sewed pocket containing a drawstring. The case is utilized as a container for the bellows in a collapsed state for transporting the game caller. To prevent inadvertant operation, the closed end of the bellows may have an exhaust opening that is to be blocked during operation of the caller.
