    Abstract: A rupture in a portion of the cargo hold area of a liquid-bulk carrier cargo ship is closed by attaching a one-piece, flexible, liquid-impermeable blanket to the hull adjacent to the rupture, then placing a plurality of further holding elements over that blanket and attaching those holding elements to the ship. The preferred form of the blanket includes neoprene sheeting material. Alternative forms of the holding elements include telescoping sections in a sleeve.
