Abstract: An animal carrier (100) has a container (101) with vertical side-walls (102) and ground-plate (114) and a frame (107) that holds the vertical side-walls (102) and the ground plate (114). The frame (107) is moulded from composite material. A first connector (151) inside the container (101) is located between the vertical side-walls (102) and receives at least one cage (131) for holding an animal (141). A second connector (152) is attached to the ground-plate (114) at the outside of the container (101) and connects the container (101) to floor-tracks (162) in the passenger cabin (161) of a vehicle so that the container (101) is secured against displacement.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transporting animals onboard a vehicle, particularly in the passenger cabin of the vehicle, wherein there is a separate arrangement in the form of an animal carrier for placing the caged animals in the passenger cabin. The animal carrier includes a plurality of features, including but not limited to a ventilation system, a monitoring system, camera surveillance, sound-proofing, filtration etc.
