  • Publication number: 20150208858
Abstract: One variation of a method for guiding cooking with a cooking vessel includes: receiving a selection for a recipe; retrieving a target cooking time and a target cooking temperature for the recipe; presenting a prompt to apply a level of heat to the cooking vessel; initiating a timer for a duration corresponding to the target cooking time; receiving a temperature measurement wirelessly transmitted from the cooking vessel; in response to receiving the temperature measurement greater than the target cooking temperature, presenting a prompt to reduce the level of heat; in response to receiving the temperature measurement less than the target cooking temperature, presenting a prompt to increase the level of heat; adjusting the duration of the timer based on a difference between the second temperature measurement and the target cooking temperature; and, in response to expiration of the timer, indicating completion of the recipe.

  • Publication number: 20150208845
Abstract: One variation of an apparatus for cooking over a burner includes: a vessel including a base defining a channel extending along an external surface of the vessel and over a center of the base, the channel including an undercut; a handle extending outwardly from the vessel; a temperature sensor arranged within the channel proximal the center of the base of the vessel; a closing panel arranged within the channel, constrained by the undercut, and cooperating with the base of the vessel to encapsulate the temperature sensor; an electrical conductor interposed between the base of the vessel and the closing panel, the electrical conductor extending from the temperature sensor to the handle; and a wireless communication module arranged within the handle, coupled to the electrical conductor, and transmitting a unique identifier and a value corresponding to an output of the temperature sensor to an external computing device.

  • Patent number: 5653322
Abstract: A clutch assembly adapted to be fixed to the casing of a transmission includes a clutch housing having a clutch subassembly supported therein and a piston housing having a piston subassembly supported therein. The clutch housing and the piston housing are disposed in abutting relation relative to one another such that the piston subassembly is moveable within the piston housing to actuate the clutch subassembly in the clutch housing. At least one of the housings includes at least one anti-rotation lug mounted thereon and adapted to be received in a corresponding recess in the casing of the transmission. The anti-rotation lug includes an overlapping portion which overlays the other of the housings when they are disposed in abutting relation relative to one another. The anti-rotation lug also includes a slot. The other of the housings includes at least one tab extending therefrom and corresponds to the slot.
