  • Publication number: 20200126669
Abstract: The present disclosure refers to a method for detecting an operation status for a sensor, the method, in a state machine embodied as a sensor system, comprising: receiving continuous monitoring data related to an operation of a sensor; providing a trained learning algorithm for detecting an operation status for the sensor which signifies a sensor function, wherein the learning algorithm is trained according to a training data set comprising historical data; detecting an operation status for the sensor by analyzing the continuous monitoring data with the trained learning algorithm; and providing output data indicating the detected operation status for the sensor. Further, a state machine system is provided, the state machine having one or more processors configured for data processing and for performing a method for detecting an operation status for a sensor.

  • Patent number: 9869679
Abstract: Methods are provided for photometrically determining/detecting sample application to an analytical test element for use with a blood glucose measuring device, where the method includes obtaining a sequence of reflectance readings from the test element with the measuring device, including a blank value prior to sample application, and then monitoring changes of the reflectance readings from the test element with respect to a sample application condition defined by a limit for a reflectance decrease or a reflectance threshold. The methods also can include adjusting the sample application condition in accordance with a drift correction and can include determining an analyte concentration in the body fluid sample. In addition, photometric blood glucose measuring devices are provided that incorporate the methods disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 9074240
Abstract: Test elements are disclosed for detecting at least one analyte in a body fluid. The test element include at least one strip-shaped carrier element and at least one test field having at least one test chemistry for detecting the analyte. The test element has a symmetrical shape such that the test element may be inserted in one of at least two different correct measurement orientations into a test element receptacle of a testing device, which includes a detection device. In the different orientations, at least one analyte-induced change in the test chemistry of the test field is detectable. Test systems including the test elements and methods of detecting at least one analyte in the body fluid using the test elements also are disclosed.
