Abstract: This invention relates to a load centering device for use in combination with a crane system. The crane system has a cable winding unit with a cable having at least one end secured thereto. The cable supportably passes through a traveling block that includes a hook to be secured to a load to be lifted. The crane system includes a load centering device that has a null condition when the crane system is not in use and the load centering device is in a predetermined spatial relationship with a vertical line and a line which is coincident with the cable center line in the region between the traveling block and the cable winding unit.
