  • Publication number: 20160078729
Abstract: A system and method are provided for implementing a uniquely automated, and otherwise gamified, version of a Squares Game. The disclosed schemes incorporate technology for hosting on, or interacting/reacting with, potential participants' mobile and personal communicating and computing devices. The disclosed schemes simplify hosting of, and participation in, a unique implementation of a Squares Game associated with one or more live event, including but not limited to live sporting events. The disclosed schemes introduce a streamlined process for registering participants, selecting interior game squares, among many players, and executing all of the gaming functions in an automated manner to include identification and notification of winners when their winning numbers are determined to be associated with respective numbers in the live event.

  • Publication number: 20160055510
Abstract: A system and method are provided for enhancing consumer and/or customer awareness and attentiveness to advertising media presented in public forums by adding elements of reactive gamification to displays and presentations at tradeshows, fairs, amusement parks, sporting events and other like venues or activities that attract high levels of potential consumer and/or customer traffic. Media-based advertising and marketing strategies are implemented that uniquely provide consumer and/or customer interest in and attention to the live presentation by recognizing that Shows have audiences that generally pay little or no attention to some or all of the goods and services being exhibited, marketed, sold, or showcased. By adding elements of gamification, in the nature of a “Game Show” where prizes are awarded, and consumers are treated as contestants, a unique advertising environment is provided for presentation of the items advertised in the Show, generating increased interest and sales.

  • Publication number: 20150371288
Abstract: A system and method are implemented for providing a multi-purpose video brochure that aggregates and integrates technologies and marketing sales tools, in a single form factor, to allow a user to carry, deliver, present, and leave behind an affordable and customizable full-media sales presentation in a single stand-alone unit. A customizable enhanced Video Brochure solution is provided in a form of a cost-effective and quickly ordered and created product. A technology solution is provided that meaningfully diminishes a number and size of individual items required to make an effective presentation to varying sizes of target audiences. A presenter of a typical group presentation is less burdened with preparing for distribution individual sets of handouts or slide presentations, and/or preparing dedicated flash drives, for example, and ensuring that appropriate (compatible) computing and projecting equipment is available in the presentation venue.

  • Publication number: 20150363808
Abstract: A system and method are provided for enabling a mass audience of network-connected users of computing and mobile communicating devices to employ financial instruments, including credit cards, debit cards or other physical transaction tokens, which are enabled to engage in one-time password (or passcode) (OTP) transaction validation, to participate in contests and sweepstakes as part of the OTP-enabled transaction validation process. The disclosed schemes make use of an emerging technology that allows powered credit cards to generate unique and/or random four or more digit numbers as OTPs. The disclosed schemes gamify the use of these transaction vehicles by awarding prizes for their use. The time sensitive and randomly associated nature of the OTP provides an additional layer of security for the financial transactions. The consumer or customer is not required to memorize, for entry at the point of a transaction.

  • Publication number: 20080010129
Abstract: A system and method for providing access to advertisements provides consumers with the ability to access information about products or ads from disparate sellers at a single point of access. Advertisements typically include a sound, symbol, or number that alerts consumers that information about the product or ad can be found by calling a single telephone number, for unrelated products and sellers. The consumer typically calls the telephone number and provides information they recall about the advertisement by interacting with an interactive voice response system. The memory portal system can use the information to determine the advertisement or product sought by the consumer and play or transmit the advertisement to the consumer. The memory portal system can also provide the consumer with information that was not available about the product in the advertisement and directly connect the consumer with the seller of the product over the telephone.

  • Publication number: 20070293169
Abstract: A method for controlling advertising content in an automobile provides a sponsor of a digital radio system with the ability to provide occupants of an automobile with advertisements of the sponsor while eliminating other advertisements, including those of competitors. Sponsor advertisements can be transmitted to the digital radio receiver when the receiver is turned on, when a new channel is selected, and at intermittent times based on the amount of time the receiver has been on and the amount of time since the last advertisement was transmitted to the receiver. In addition, ad-free content can be provided with disc jockeys providing plugs that describe the products of the sponsor without providing standard ad content. The method further provides a system having multiple sponsors where information about the owner of the automobile is obtained and evaluated in order to select advertisements from sponsors having products of interest to the automobiles owner.

  • Publication number: 20070233552
Abstract: A method for soliciting and receiving voter feedback can comprise requesting and receiving comments, feedback, or positions from voting constituents and providing that information to elected officials for review in connection with deciding how to vote. The invention supports a method for notifying constituents about live discussions and debates on issues, during which constituents and elected officials become better educated. Steps in the method can comprise soliciting input from the constituents about an issue and weighting input according to one or more rules. Input from constituents demonstrating that they are informed or from constituents directly impacted by an issue can be weighed more heavily than input from other constituents. A database stores a record of input from each constituent so that elected officials can review opinion patterns of each constituent. Meanwhile, constituents can access a database of the voting records of elected officials.

  • Publication number: 20070174876
Abstract: A communication gateway can provide a residence or a premises with access to multiple communication services, including reception of TV signals and bidirectional data communication. The gateway can reformat incoming TV signals to provide compatibility with an onsite TV. The incoming TV signals may be digital or may provide a higher level of pixel definition or screen resolution than the onsite TV is configured to handle. The gateway can convert the incoming TV signals into an analog form or can reduce the pixel definition for reception by the onsite TV. To support bidirectional data communications, the gateway can comprise a wireless interface to a LAN and an interface to broader network, such as a WAN. The gateway can process data signals flowing between the LAN and the WAN to provide format compatibility and can track media exposure. In one exemplary embodiment, the WAN can transmit television signals as packets.

  • Publication number: 20040220858
Abstract: Providing advertising comprises communicating, through a mass-media, non-interactive broadcast network, an advertisement pod comprising multiple advertisements. Each advertisement comprises advertising content. A prize pool is created based on subscription fees, advertising premiums, sponsorship fees, user fees, entrance fees, and/or non-cash prizes. A query is communicated about a selected portion of the advertising content of at least one of the advertisements. An offer of a reward is presented as an incentive for each recipient to review the advertisements and to submit a response to the query. The reward is based on the prize pool. Respective responses to the query are collected through a response device from responding ones of the recipients. Receipt of each response having a correct reply to the query verifies that the responding recipient has been exposed to the selected portion of the advertising content. A winner of the reward is selected from responding recipients.

  • Publication number: 20040103032
Abstract: Interacting with broadcast content. A mass media broadcast network communicates broadcast content to multiple recipients. Broadcast receivers present the broadcast content to the recipients. Client computers transmit a query about a selected portion of the broadcast content. Interactive remote controls each operated by a respective recipient transmit a channel control signal to tune a broadcast receiver to a station channel upon which the broadcast content is presented. The controls also receive the query, present the query to a recipient, accept input of a response to the query, and transmit the response to the client computer. Each correct response verifies exposure of the responding recipient to the selected content portion.
