Publication number: 20240138877Abstract: Intravascular delivery system is designed for a safe and efficient access to secondary and tertiary vascular structures, such as the branches of the coronary sinus, to enhance the delivery and deployment of various catheters, such as, for example, pacemaker electrical leads. The over-the-wire system features a straight, or alternatively shaped, micro-catheter distal tip of an inner catheter that seamlessly cooperates with a peel-away reinforced outer catheter. The inner catheter and the peel-away reinforced outer catheter are advanced in their engaged mode of operation towards (or beyond) the target site. Subsequently, the inner and outer catheters are disengaged, and the inner catheter is removed from the outer catheter. A pacemaker lead may be advanced over the wire inside the outer catheter to the target site for deployment. Subsequently, the outer catheter is easily split and may be rapidly removed from the blood vessel.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2024Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Tim A. Fischell, Frank S. Saltiel, Xiaoke Liu, Jeffrey D. Payne

Publication number: 20230088977Abstract: The guide catheter extension system for various intravascular procedures, including the reverse CART procedure, the thrombus removal, etc., has an enhanced ”capturing” capability. It is configured with a plastically expandable scaffold member forming an expandable “funnel-like” distal opening, and, once it has been advanced into the subintimal space, provides an enhanced capability of catching the retrograde wire or a thrombus, as required by the procedure. A balloon delivered to the target location in the blood vessel, by being inflated, opens the scaffold member to enhance the delivery of the retrograde wire or the thrombus into the guide catheter extension. When the guide catheter extension is no longer needed, the flared guide extension can be easily compressed and collapsed as it is drawn in the guiding catheter. For benefits of the thrombus removal, the balloon may be formed from a material loaded with a radiopaque material and prefabricated with micro pores.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2022Publication date: March 23, 2023Inventors: TIM A. Patent number: 6458151Abstract: A stent positioning device and associated method for precisely delivering and deploying an intravascular stent in a vascular lumen adjacent the ostium thereof. The stent positioning device is slidably disposed about a stent delivery catheter and includes a distally disposed expandable member having an expanded diameter that is larger than the vascular lumen adjacent the ostium. The stent positioning device is positioned in the vasculature such that the distal end of the expandable member engages the ostium. The stent delivery catheter is positioned such that the proximal end of the stent is positioned adjacent the distal end of the expandable member by using either a visible marker on the stent delivery catheter or a radiopaque marker on the expandable member. When the stent is positioned adjacent the distal end of the expandable member, the stent may be deployed such that the proximal end of the stent is located in the vascular lumen adjacent the ostium.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2000Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Inventor: Frank S.
