  • Patent number: 5529173
Abstract: A convertible container having two panels hingedly connected to one another along single edges. Recessed interior walls permit the storage of items therein when the panels are closed. A raised ridge along three outer sides of the panels allows an item to be supported and framed within the exterior panels when the container is open and converted to a double length framed area. Various locks keep the panels closed, interior baffles keep items in place when the container is closed and hook devices permit the container to be displayed.

  • Patent number: 4728071
Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-purpose, snap-clamp system capable of releasably holding objects of medium weight. The system is one piece and injection molded of polypropylene or similar plastic. The system, which includes a resilient spring member having two end portions, two interconnected by a film-hinge control levers each connected to one of the end portions by a film-hinge, and at least one gripping member connected at one of the end portions to one of the control levers and capable of being detachably connected to the other end portion, includes two resilient mounting legs connected at one of their ends to the end portion of the spring member and at the other of their ends to a mounting base, which in turn is mounted to a surface such as a wall. The gripping member along with the two control levers are movable between open and closed positions wherein the closed position the gripping member and the two control levers form a gripping cavity adapted to hold an object.

  • Patent number: 4722627
Abstract: The present invention provides a clip-on paper holding system for a snap-clamp device made in one piece of plastic. The system uses the snap-clamp device as a paper holder for receiving and holding sheets of punched hole paper. The device is used either with a note pad base to hole punched paper, or with a notebook where the snap-clamp device is mounted to an elongated mounting member that is affixed to the inner surface of the spine of a notebook. One, two, or more devices are used depending on how many holes are formed in the note paper.

  • Patent number: 4667826
Abstract: The holding device of the present invention is an all plastic clamp for holding articles such as toothbrushes, pencils and similar shaped items. The clamp is also usable for holding textile materials such as curtains and towels. The plastic construction of the clamp allows its use in humid and wet areas where a clamp of metal construction will rust. The clamp of this invention also uses plastic hinges made from the same material as the body of the clamp thereby allowing the entire clamp to be extended. Additionally the clamp of this invention is provided with resilient plastic fingers which fill the interior of the holding portions of the clamp and allow the clamp to adjust to articles or varying sizes. The frame of the clamp is also provided with an external loop having the resilient plastic fingers and forming an auxilliary clamping feature.

  • Patent number: 4527760
Abstract: The present invention provides a clip-on system for a multi-purpose, snap-clamp device capable of releasably holding objects in either vertical or horizontal alignments. The system allows a user to select a horizontal or vertical alignment for the snap-clamp device. The system includes a body fastened to a wall or the like and having a compartment with a front wall forming a central passage and two pairs of slots. A mounting member carrying the snap-clamp device on one side has a fastener on the other side. The fastener includes a shaft and two pairs of arms extending at right angles from the shaft. The slots in the front wall of the body receive the arms and the central passage mounts the shaft. The arms are wedged and where the mounting member is rotated the edge of the wedges, which extend slightly into the compartment, catch the inner surface of the front wall of the body and wedge the mounting member into a locked position.
