Patent number: 9050741Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for cleaning extrusion heads (10) in the extrusion of thermoplastic plastic materials which are ejected or extruded as tubular preform (12) from an extrusion nozzle (14). For removing interfering deposits and cakings (20) on the discharge nozzle (14), according to the present invention the tubular preform (12) is briefly deflected and upset, wherein the deposits (20) adhering in a proximate region of the discharge nozzle (14) are wiped off from the tubular preform (12) and transported away. Advantageously, the tubular preform (12) is during its deflection itself used as cleaning element, wherein the cleaning takes place automatically during the continuous operation of the continuous extrusion without interrupting the production process.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2011Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: Mauser-Werke GmbHInventors: Stefan Keusch, Frank Schüller

Patent number: 8383219Abstract: A multilayer thermoplastic container for storing and transporting liquid contents, especially combustible or explosive contents, is made of at least three superimposed layers and includes at least one layer for discharging an electric charge. The innermost layer of the container in contact with the liquid content is made of virgin material and a second integrated inner layer which is covered by the innermost virgin material layer is electrically conductive as a result of incorporated additives, e.g. conductive carbon black and is covered on the outside by another electrically non-conductive layer. Electric charge carriers that accumulate on the surface of the thin inner layer due to the friction with the content are “suctioned through” large areas of the inner, electrically non-conductive layer by the second, electrically conductive layer and discharged.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2012Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: Mauser-Werke GmbHInventors: Klaus-Peter Schmidt, Frank Schüller, Reinhard Schubbach

Patent number: 6514068Abstract: A molding apparatus has a pair of mold halves having faces engageable together to form a nonstraight passage having an intake end and an output end, extruder means for forming a hollow plastic preform and feeding it to the intake end of the passage, pump means connected to the output end of the passage for drawing gas therefrom and thereby applying drawing the preform through the passage, and a seal carried on one of the faces, extending along the passage, and engaging the other of the faces for preventing gas flow between the faces into the passage when the mold halves are closed together.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2001Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Assignee: Sig Blowtec GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Willi Döhmen, Frank Schüller, Dirk Wehrens

Publication number: 20010019186Abstract: A molding system has an extruder for concentrically extruding an outer tubular strand having an inner diameter and an inner tubular strand having an outer diameter from respective annular nozzle openings defined between respective inner and outer nozzle walls. The outer strand at least is are of a resin that swells transversely as it issue from the respective nozzle opening. The nozzle walls are positioned such that the outer diameter of the inner strand is substantially smaller than the inner diameter of the outer strand and the inner strand is separated by a space from the outer strand as the strands issue from the respective nozzle openings. An outer wall of the inner strand engages an inner wall of the outer strand at a spacing from the nozzle openings after substantially all swelling of the strands has taken place. A closeable mold has a passage for drawing the strands through the passage by applying suction to a downstream end of the passage.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2001Publication date: September 6, 2001Applicant: FISCHER-W.
