Abstract: A medical sensor system for attachment to a patient includes a patient structure which includes a patient backing layer having a first major surface and a second major surface. A first adhesive layer coves at least a portion of the first major surface. The first adhesive layer is adapted to adhere to the patient. A second adhesive layer covers at least a portion of the second major surface. The system further includes an intermediate layer attached (for example, adhered) to the second adhesive layer and a sensor structure removably attached (for example, adhered) to the intermediate layer. The sensor structure can, for example, include a sensor backing layer having a third major surface and a fourth major surface. A third adhesive layer can cover at least a portion of the third major surface. The third adhesive layer can be adapted to adhere to the intermediate layer. A fourth adhesive layer covers at least a portion of the fourth major surface.
