Publication number: 20230297118Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques to undo a portion of a mission recording of a robot by physically moving the robot back through the mission recording in reverse. As a result, after the undo process is completed, the robot is positioned at an earlier point in the mission and the user can continue to record further mission data from that point. The portion of the mission recording that was performed in reverse can be omitted from subsequent performance of the mission, for example by deleting that portion from the mission recording or otherwise marking that portion as inactive. In this manner, the mistake in the initial mission recording is not retained, but the robot need not perform the entire mission recording again.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2022Publication date: September 21, 2023Applicant: Boston Dynamics, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Hufford Yanks, Samuel Frank Seifert, Mario Attilio Bollini, Leland John Hepler

Patent number: 8240725Abstract: A bumper system for motor vehicles includes a cross member, and at least one crush box positioned between the cross member and the vehicle frame. Two coupling levers have opposite ends operably and pivotally connected with a crush box and cross member. The coupling levers are arranged in a mutually parallel relationship and oriented at an angle relative to vehicle travel, such that the cross member is supported by the crush box for displacement from a ready position toward the vehicle frame in both horizontal and vertical directions. An energy absorption element constructed from a foam material was positioned between a cross member and the crush box, and is clamped between the coupling levers to selectively resist inward movement of the cross member from the ready position upon impact to absorb impact energy.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2010Date of Patent: August 14, 2012Assignee: Benteler Automobiltechnik GmbHInventors: Holger Wiedermann, Frank Seifert, Torsten Groning

Patent number: 7931319Abstract: A bumper of a motor vehicle includes a cross member which is disposed transversely to a side rail of a motor vehicle frame and movable from a standby position in a direction of the motor vehicle. Placed between the cross member and the side rail is a crash box. A coupler maintains a distance between the cross member and the crash box, when the cross member assumes the standby position, and a strut extends at an inclination between the cross member and the crash box to connect the cross member to the crash box. The strut is supported upon the cross member by a linear guide and supported upon the crash box by a swivel joint.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2010Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Benteler Automobiltechnik GmbHInventors: Christoph Schmidt, Frank Seifert, Torsten Gröning

Patent number: 6284967Abstract: A solar generator especially for a spacecraft or space flight body has a plurality of first collector panels hinged to each other in a column extending in a first direction (D1) when the first collector panels are unfolded and a plurality of second panels coupled to the first panels so that the second panels can be unfolded in a second direction (D2) only after the first panels have been unfolded. The second panels are coupled to the first panels by journal struts or by hinges so that at least one first panel forms with at least one second panel, preferably with two or more second panels, a panel packet. The hinges (40) that articulate the first panels to each other permit unfolding the panel packets in said first direction (D1), whereupon the second panels in the individual packets can be unfolded in the second direction (D2).Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1999Date of Patent: September 4, 2001Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Alo Hakan, Frank Seifert
