Patent number: 12210868Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for determining a version of an application for a user to access based at least in part an overall posture of the user and the device launching the application. An application can support multiple delivery mechanisms to allow a user different ways to access the service provided by the application. A posture level (e.g., level of risk, level of compliance) associated with the overall posture of a device and user accessing an application is determined. The posture level can be used to select which version of the application should be launched by the device in order to provide the best experience for the user while ensuring that security is considered.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2022Date of Patent: January 28, 2025Assignee: Omnissa, LLCInventors: Steven DeJarnett, Peter Björk, Martin Kniffin, Frank Stephen Taylor

Patent number: 12196501Abstract: A thermal storage system includes a container, a thermal exchange device, a first thermal storage material, and a second thermal storage material. The first thermal exchange device is disposed in the container. The first thermal storage material is disposed in the container and is spaced apart from the thermal exchange device. The second thermal storage material is also disposed in the container in contact with the thermal exchange device. The first and second thermal storage materials are immiscible. The second thermal storage material is less reactive with the construction material of the thermal exchange device as compared to the first thermal storage material. Optionally, a second thermal exchange device can be submerged in the second thermal storage material. The first thermal exchange device is configured to supply heat to the second thermal storage material and the second thermal exchange device facilitates extraction of heat from the second thermal storage material.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2023Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Thermal Storage SystemsInventors: Alan J. Methods and Systems for Centimeter-accurate Localization with Carrier Phase from Asymmetric Antennas
Publication number: 20240421474Abstract: Example embodiments relate to centimeter-accurate localization using asymmetric antennas. A pair of mobile devices can establish a wireless communication connection with one device acting as a base station and the other being a rover for real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning. When the mobile devices have similar asymmetric antennas for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal reception, errors caused by the asymmetric antennas can be canceled by combining measurements from both devices. The rover mobile device may display instructions for the user to adjust its orientation to align with the orientation of the base station mobile device. The rover mobile device can then obtain and use measurement or correction data from the base station to determine its position relative to the rover mobile device. Such techniques can be performed by complementary model devices to be used to map areas to a high degree of precision (e.g., centimeter level), including elevation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2023Publication date: December 19, 2024Inventors: Frank Stephen Tromp van Diggelen, Mohammed Khider -

Publication number: 20230410006Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for virtual desktop infrastructure optimization. A computing device can create a plurality of predictions for future demand for the VDI, each of the plurality of predictions using a respective one of a plurality of resource models, each representing a separate approach to predict future demand for the VDI. Then, the computing device can calculate a plurality of anticipated resource costs, each of the plurality of anticipated resource costs being based at least in part on a respective one of the plurality of predictions for future demand for the VDI. Moreover, the computing device can include, within a user interface, the plurality of predictions for future demand and the plurality of anticipated resource costs. Then, the computing device can implement a resource model from the plurality of resource models to manage an allocation of resources for the VDI in response to a selection of the resource model through the user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2022Publication date: December 21, 2023Inventors: Yao Zhang, Wenping Fan, Qichen Hao, Frank Stephen Taylor, Wei Tian, Puhui Meng

Patent number: 10925332Abstract: A contractor knee pad designed for long-term comfort when working kneeling on the ground or on the floor. The kneeling work pads of the invention have a hard inner core and a comfortable outer sheath which protects the contractors knee from the inner core, a wide elastic webbing may be stretched across the back of the wearer's leg from one side of the kneeling work pads to the other. In order to provide uniform tension, a zipper is employed, the zipper of the wide elastic webbing closes downward, that is, the opposite to the most common direction. Optional strips attach to strip anchors actually on the front of the contractors kneeling word pads, which are simple studs so that the strips may be put over the stud to be held in place and no part of the attachment reaches to the back of the device.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2018Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Inventor: Frank Stephen Quantz

Patent number: 10240292Abstract: Unlike conventional through-air drying processes the instant invention utilizes at least two through-air driers where the first dyer is at least partially encircled by a first through-air drying fabric and the second dyer is at least partially encircled by a second through-air drying fabric. By providing each through-air dryer with its own fabric the overall drying performance may be increased. Additionally, in certain embodiments, the first and second fabrics may be different to optimize both the drying performance and/or tissue product properties.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2016Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventors: Mark John Hassman, Peter John Allen, Frank Stephen Hada, Robert James Seymour, Richard Allen Zanon, Richard Mark Hansen, Nathan John Haiduk, Samuel August Nelson, Daniel Robert Sprangers, Paul Timothy Baker
