  • Publication number: 20110197743
Abstract: A tuning device includes a weighted housing which reduces transfer of vibrations of all strings of a stringed musical instrument to a body of the stringed musical instrument, and tuning circuitry which simultaneously detects a pitch of each vibrating string. A method of tuning a stringed musical instrument includes attaching an electronic tuning device to a bridge of the stringed musical instrument, activating the electronic tuning device, causing a plurality of strings of the stringed musical instrument to vibrate simultaneously, and individually adjusting a pitch of each of the simultaneously vibrating strings in accordance with a pitch indication for each of the strings produced by the electronic tuning device.

  • Patent number: 7446248
Abstract: An automatic tuning system for a stringed instrument is provided having a string adjustment assembly comprising a motor and gear assembly, wherein the motor and gear assembly is pivotable on a housing for the tuning system. The system can also include a vibrato arm in contact with the motor and gear assembly, and a vibrato return spring in contact with both the motor and gear assembly and the instrument, which is capable of reversibly changing the position of a string contact surface in the string adjustment assembly with respect to the string, thereby lowering the pitch of the string and then raising it to its original pitch. The system can also include an option board for wireless communication with remote components such as a remote footswitch or other type of control panel. Other remote devices may also be wirelessly connected to the tuning system, including other instruments, audio devices for receiving sound, and the like.

  • Patent number: 5816689
Abstract: An illuminating service for creating a broad area of illumination is preferably enclosed in a compact and hand held housing, and includes an illumination source consisting of a bulb and a reflector. The illumination source is directly connected to a moving means using an attachment means, and is rotated at a frequency to provide an increased area of illumination having an intensity perceived as being substantially equivalent to that of a non-rotating beam when viewed by an observer. In addition, an energy reuse and DC notching reducer are disclosed that includes a load member and an energy storage means that are operatively connected with a pair of switches. The switches are selectively energized as to allow current to pass through the load member and to allow the energy storage means to store and discharge energy such that the energy is recycled through the load member.
