  • Patent number: 7753713
Abstract: A consumer device interface assembly is provided that utilizes a male over-mold adapter that is operable to engage a conventional USB female shroud. A locking clip is associated with the male over-mold so as to provide locking engagement between the over-mold and the female adapter. The over-mold is universal thus allowing a host of consumer device interfaces to be used with the assembly.

  • Patent number: 7351089
Abstract: An electrical connector has a CPA plug (connector position assurance plug) for assuring that the electrical connector is properly connected to a mating electrical connector. The electrical connector includes a right-angled connector body having a plurality of longitudinal channels that open into an axial shroud that plugs into a socket of the mating connector in the axial direction, and a plurality of right angled terminals that are disposed in the plurality of longitudinal channels respectively with their respective contacts disposed in the axial shroud. The axial shroud has a cover at one end and the CPA plug is attached to the cover for movement between a prestaged position and a final locked position assuring that the electrical connector is properly connected to the mating electrical connector. Three embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5348498
Abstract: Electric cables are passed through a hole in a transmission housing that is filled with transmission fluid by means of a sealed electrical connector system that comprises a sealed "pass through" electrical connector that is mounted in the hole of the transmission housing and an external mating connector. The pass through connector includes an insert that cooperates with solid metal pins of specially designed two-piece male terminals to seal the mating end of the pass through connector. The insert also serves as a secondary lock to insure that the male terminals are retained in the terminal cavities. The external mating connector also has an insert that has the same secondary lock feature to retain female terminals in its terminal cavities.

  • Patent number: 5147217
Abstract: An electrical component package comprises an insulator housing of thermoplastic material having a hollow base and a cover. The hollow base supports and locates an electrical component longitudinally in a component cavity and holds and positions the component leads in terminal cavities at opposite longitudinal ends of the component cavity. Insulation displacement terminals are then inserted into the terminal cavities establishing electrical connections with the positioned component leads. The hollow base is then partially filled with a sealant material after which the electric component package is installed on a pair of electric cables by closing the cover to push the electric cables down into insulation displacement slots of the respective terminals.

  • Patent number: 4173349
Abstract: An interface seal is mounted on a tubular end portion of a connector body. The interface seal has a biconic head having a converging section which is engaged and folded back toward a diverging section by a conical ramp at the end of a mating connector body when the connector bodies are locked together.
