  • Patent number: 9920470
Abstract: A method for capturing an item of laundry in a reliable and efficient manner. Washed items of laundry usually leave a washing machine intertwined with one another as a pile of laundry. Before the items of laundry that come out of a washing machine in this way are subjected to further treatment steps, for example mangling or sorting, they have to be separated. In the method, the topography of the item of laundry is ascertained and at least one point of the item of laundry at which the item of laundry is intended to be captured and/or preferably can be captured by a capturing means is determined on the basis of this topography. The item of laundry is captured by the capturing means by specific control of the capturing means at this point.

  • Patent number: 8801351
Abstract: In a device for cutting to length and feeding spine strips (3) for a case maker (1), a center strip conveying device (30) is provided that advances the spine strip material (5, 6) by the spine width (BS) transverse to the board feed direction (23) in a cyclic fashion. The spine width (BS) can be changed from work cycle to work cycle without accumulating additional waste. This can be realized because the previously required width sizing on the material web is eliminated.

Abstract: In a case maker (1), cover boards (2) and a spine strip (3) are joined with the glued blanks to be covered (4) in a roll-down device (12, 15). The protruding edges of the blank (4) are subsequently turned in successively arranged work stations (40, 43). Book cases (8) with different dimensions are manufactured in the form of a continuous production by adjusting at least the guides (29, 30) of the board feed (20) that align the cover boards (2) and spine strips (3), as well as the turn-in devices (44.1, 44.2) of the side turn-in station (43), to the working positions defined for the respective book case (8) to be manufactured next in synchronism with the throughfeed of the respective book cases (7, 8) and their assigned cover boards (2), spine strips (3) and blanks to be covered (4).

  • Publication number: 20130020383
Abstract: The box (17, 21, 31, 41, 51) is created on the basis of a multi-element lined box part (1), to which two separate and likewise lined sidewalls (13, 14) are glued. The multi-element box part (1) comprises a bottom (10), as well as the two other sidewalls (11, 12). The two separate third and fourth sidewalls (13, 14) are glued on by means of straps (4.1, 4.2) flush with or slightly set back to the edges of the multi-element box part (1), wherein the multi-element box part (1) is quasi folded around the third and fourth sidewalls (13, 14). This results in a rigid box (17, 21, 31, 41, 51) that in its simplest form consists of an upwardly open case.

  • Patent number: 7815038
Abstract: A conveying device (1) for vertically transporting piece goods (3) with inner and outer conveying means (4, 5) and several platforms (11) that are coupled to the conveying means. The piece goods are fed to the platforms horizontally in a receiving region (14), the platforms lie horizontally while lifted in a lift region (12), and the platforms deliver the piece goods horizontally at a delivery region to a delivery conveyor (17). The conveying means are driven with a varying transport speed (F), such that the platforms pass through the deflecting region (6.2, 7.2) between the lift and discharge regions with a slower transport speed (Fn) while the platforms move with a faster transport speed (Fh) before and after they pass through the deflecting region. The varying transport speed (F) preferably has a period (P) which corresponds to the same mutual distance (T) between the platforms.

  • Patent number: 7614838
Abstract: The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for producing cases with rounded corners. According to this method, the corner edge (10) that protrudes in the region of a rounded corner (9) is initially uprighted and turned over and subsequently pressed on the cover boards (7a, b, c) together with the turning-over and pressing-on of the lateral edge (11a) of an adjacent lateral border, in the same station (1). The apparatus comprises at least one rounded corner tool (3) that is arranged in the same station (1) in the which the lateral edges (11a, b) of opposed lateral borders that lie parallel to one another are uprighted, turned over, and pressed on the cover. The rounded corner tool (3) can be moved (b) toward the center of the case and out of the effective range of the lateral turn-in device (24) immediately before the turning-over and pressing-on movement (c, d) of the lateral turn-in device (24).

  • Publication number: 20090136323
Abstract: A device (19) for transferring a case (1, 1.1, 1.2) that is assembled from pasteboard and/or cardboard (3) and a cloth (2) from a roll-down apparatus (16) that is composed of a cloth cylinder (11) and at least one pressing roller (15) and interconnects the glued cloth (2) and the blanks (3) to a handover point (31), from which the case (2) can be fed in a cyclic fashion to a turn-in and pressing device (30) for turning in protruding edges of the cloth. The device has a transport element (20) that can be moved forward and backward and non-positively takes hold of the case (1, 1.1, 1.2) exiting the roll-down apparatus (16) during an essentially synchronous movement. The device (19) features a drive unit (22, 23, 23a) that can be acted upon with a control profile (50.1, 50.2) that is variable in dependence on the format height referred to the transport direction, wherein a defined end position (21a) of the transport element (20) at the handover point (31) and a changing transport stroke are realized.

  • Patent number: 6669429
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing book-binding covers including a board-feeding-in system for feeding in cover boards and a back insert and a copy-feeding-in system for feeding in reference copies. A copy cylinder grips the reference copies, guides them past a glue-applying roll, and joins them to the cover boards and back insert. A tucking-in and pressing-on device folds the protruding reference-copy edges round the board edges and presses the book covers on. A feeding-out device delivers the book covers in stacks. The material flow of the book boards, back inserts, reference copies, and book covers is orientated in an ascending manner in relation to the horizontal surface on which the apparatus stands. The gain in height thus achieved compensates for the losses in height in the board magazine, in the tucking-in system, in the feeding-out device, and on the onward conveyers so that the laying-on of the cover boards takes place at virtually the same, ergonomic working height as the taking-off of the book covers.
