  • Patent number: 9143418
Abstract: Transmission capacity from a first node to a second node through a communication network is measured. First and second probe message from the first node to the second node, a first and second amount of data in the first and second probe message respectively being mutually different, at least one of the first and second amount exceeding a fragmentation threshold of the communication network. First and second round trip time durations are measured between transmission of the first and second probe message from the first node and reception back at the first node of a first and second response message from the second node to the first and second probe message respectively. The capacity is computed from a difference between the first and second round trip time duration.

  • Patent number: 8775683
Abstract: Method for exchanging control codes between a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) enabled first network element (1) of an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) network (2), e.g. a mobile terminal connected to such network, and a UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enabled second network element (3) of a UPnP enabled network (4), both networks being interconnected by an IMS/UPnP interface (5). The first network element (1) addresses a request to a SIP/SIP interface (6), using an address which conforms to the Wildcard PSI (Public Service Identity) format and comprising a PSI address part A which is valid for PSI addressing, and a wildcard address part A?. Then the PSI address part A is converted, in the SIP/SIP interface (6), into a valid SIP URI (Universal Resource Identifier) address B assigned to die IMS/UPnP interface (5), while the wildcard address part A1 is converted into an address parameter B1, pointing or assigned to the second network element of the UPnP enabled network.

  • Patent number: 8406167
Abstract: A proxy-bridge for connecting Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) compliant devices with Bluetooth (BT) compliant devices, and includes SSDP support for discovery of available UPnP compliant devices and services; a Bluetooth SDP client for discovery of available Bluetooth devices and available Bluetooth services and a Bluetooth SDP server for communicating with Bluetooth SDP clients in the available Bluetooth devices. The proxy-bridge has a converter for converting the discovered Bluetooth devices and services into associated UPnP device and service information, and the discovered UPnP compliant devices and services into associated Bluetooth device, service, and/or profile information. A device and service announcer advertises device availability at regular intervals. A UPnP adapter represents the Bluetooth devices towards the UPnP devices and a Bluetooth adapter represents the UPnP compliant devices towards the Bluetooth compliant devices.
