    Abstract: A process for setting hair is disclosed comprising the steps of applying to the hair a solution of sulfonated polymer selected from the group consisting of sulfonated polystyrene, sulfonated interpolymers of styrene and ethylenically unsaturated comonomers, and soluble salts of said sulfonated polymers, setting the hair in the desired configuration, and allowing the hair to dry while it is retained in the desired configuration.
