  • Patent number: 7803153
Abstract: A method for at least one of preventing myopia and retarding the progression of myopia is provided. The method includes measuring optical aberrations in a human eye (42, 43, 44) and correcting the optical aberrations (46). Measuring optical aberrations (42, 43, 44) may include measuring wavefront aberrations (45) of parallel light rays entering the eye.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 2000
Date of Patent: September 28, 2010
Assignee: New England College of Optometry
Inventors: Frank Thorn, Richard Held, Jane E. Gwiazda, Ji C. He

  • Patent number: 6076642
Abstract: A bridge coupling on a hydrodynamic torque converter is embodied with an axially movable piston arranged on a radial bearing. In one operating position, the piston can be brought into active connection with a support surface of a radial flange of the converter housing via at least one friction lining. The piston executes its axial movement under the influence of an axially elastic element integrated in the radial bearing and having an elastomer substantially deformable in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4755044
Abstract: A system for performing an examination of the eye of a subject which uses a source of light and a concave mirror for focusing such light at a selected region of the fundus of the eye so as to form an enlarged optical image of the selected region at a selected spatial region which is remote from the eye. An ophthalmoscope, or camera, or other viewing instrument is then focused at the selected spatial region to permit the selected region of the eye to be viewed either immediately or photographed for subsequent viewing.
