Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining activity of a molecule, wherein the molecule comprises at least two active parts, and wherein the first part is capable of modulating the activity of cells, and the second part can specifically bind to a target, and kits useful for performing the method.

Abstract: A rack adapted to retain a plurality of beverage filter cartridges including a rotatable base member, a stand extending vertically from the rotatable base member, a plurality of spaced-apart hoop members encircling the stand, and a plurality of ring members coupled tangentially to the hoop members and extending from the hoop members at an oblique angle. The base member further includes a stationary segment and an inner plate. The inner plate is rotatably secured to the stationary segment, and the stand projects vertically from the inner plate such that when the inner plate rotates, so does the stand. The spaced-apart hoop members encircle the stand and are supported by parallel bars that extend the diameter of the hoop members. The parallel bars are secured to the stand at different positions along the axis of the stand. The ring members are sized to retain a beverage filter cartridge, wherein a rim of the beverage filter cartridge hangs on the ring.

Abstract: The present invention, in one embodiment, is a poultry shield specially configured to fill and seal the chest cavity opening in a poultry bird such as turkey, chicken, goose, duck, etc. For example, once the chest cavity of the bird is filled with stuffing, the poultry shield, which is generally pie-slice-shaped, is inserted into the chest cavity opening such that the front tip of the shield is under the most rearward tip of the bird's chest plate, the rounded back portion of the shield abuts against the most forward portion of the bird's rump structure, and the skin defining the chest cavity opening is tucked around the shield. To maintain the shield in the aforementioned sealing position, the bird's legs are placed over the shield and tucked under a wire clip attached to the shield. The bird's chest cavity is now sufficiently sealed to allow the stuffed bird to be cooked within an oven without overly drying the stuffing within the bird's chest cavity.

Abstract: A lifter for foodstuffs for shifting the same from one position to another including the placing in or removal of various foods to and from cooking utensils without touching the same or piercing the same with forks, knives and the like. The lifter includes a generally rectangular support of a plurality of spaced, longitudinally extending rods or wires bounded by a retaining member having sides. The retaining member is provided with a pair of, side positioned, generally U-shaped handles which are rotatably mounted thereto. Select portions of the retaining member are formed to provide a pair of elevating legs on each of the sides and the handles are provided between such legs. The legs will elevate the foodstuff from the bottom of the utensil or other support surface upon which the laden lifter may be placed.

Abstract: An expandable cooking rack for foodstuffs providing a two section longitudinally extending rack having a plurality of spaced lateral rods or bars encompassed with a surrounding, formed, rim having shiftable handle members on the longitudinal ends of the surrounding rim, Foot or surface elevating legs are provided on selected of said lateral rods to elevate the rack above a support surface. The surrounding rim is provided with telescoping portions to allow and limit the extension of the sections.

Abstract: A roasting rack for various fowls including a base with pivotal and adjustable support members thereon, which members form a supporting V-frame with each member arranged to receive a portion of the anatomy, such as the wings, of the fowl such that the fowl is positionable, breast down, onto the V-frame. The members forming the frame are positionable for adjustment in accordance with the size of the fowl being roasted.

Abstract: An expandable rack for foodstuffs or other articles for temporary use after baking or cooking to allow the foodstuff to cool. The expandable rack consists of a plurality of tiers or layers which are slidably arranged with respect to one another such that the entire rack may be slid together to form a compact size for storage. A first layer or tier consists of a plurality of spaced, longitudinally extending rods surrounded by a continuous, formed member, to substantially provide a rectangular shape and having downwardly depending legs to elevate the same above a support surface. Each of the additional layers employs the same construction but is of reduced size to permit all layers to be slid together in underlying relation to the first layer. The structure for retaining the tiers or layers to one another and allow sliding therebetween is incorporated into each of the tiers and each tier has support legs.

Abstract: A formed rack providing a plurality of horizontally extending, spaced rods with extending wire formed handles for lifting. The rack provides a first horizontal surface, formed of the spaced rods, upon which foodstuffs may be placed for roasting or baking with a pair of formed members having their bottommost portions constructed to be interlocked with selected of the horizontal rods to provide a pair of vertically arranged poultry receiving elements which are receivable into the interior of a poultry carcass to hold the same in upright position. The vertical members also interlock with one another at ninety degree angles to provide support for the carcass placed thereon and hold the same in a vertical position during baking or roasting.

Abstract: A multi-layer or multi-shelf baking and cooling rack which provides a plurality of layer surfaces which will fit into an oven of a stove for receiving articles to be baked thereon. Its lower layer will rest upon the lowest positioned oven shelf and provide three layers in spaced vertical relation thereabove with the normal second shelf of the oven being positionable upon the upper oven rack supports to provide four baking levels. The unit is removable from the oven for cooling of the baked products. The unit consists of a lower rack having a forward and rearward leg rotatable thereon into vertical positions. The rearward leg is provided with a pair of spaced shelf elements rotatably attached thereto with the frontmost ends of such shelf elements provided with hook elements to engage with the forward leg of the lower rack when the same is shifted to its vertical position. The rotatable connections allow for complete collapsing of the unit for storage purposes.
