  • Patent number: 9445967
Abstract: This invention relates to an automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation device for cyclically compressing a patient's chest. The CPR device comprises a front structure with a first and a second movable unit arranged to move back and forth along said front structure; a back support for positioning behind the patient's back arranged to keep the front structure in a fixed position relative to the patient's back; a chest pad; two arms each rotatably coupled to the chest pad with one end and each being rotatably coupled to a respective one of the first and the second movable units; and a motor arranged for, when in operation, driving the first and the second movable units back and forth such that the chest pad cyclically compresses the patient's chest.

  • Publication number: 20160131559
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a sample separation device (400) for the separation of material from a region of interest, the “sample-ROI” (RS), in a biological sample (11). An embodiment of the invention comprises the application of a structured cover sheet (20) that has an aperture (24) at the sample-ROI to the sample (11). Sample material can then selectively be removed from the sample-ROI through the aperture (24) in the cover sheet. The cover sheet (20) may for example be a tape with an adhesive on one side. The aperture (24) in the cover sheet (20) may automatically be cut out after the selection of a region of interest in a (microscopic) image (I) of the sample. Alternatively, the structured cover sheet (20) maybe produced by printing or plotting. Moreover, sample material may preferably be removed by lysing and may further be subjected to molecular diagnostics (MDx).

  • Publication number: 20140005578
Abstract: This invention relates to an automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation device for cyclically compressing a patient's chest. The CPR device comprises a front structure (43) with a first and a second movable unit (44 a, b) arranged to move back and forth along said front structure; a back support (41) for positioning behind the patient's back arranged to keep the front structure in a fixed position relative to the patient's back; a chest pad (46); two arms (45 a, b) each rotatably coupled 5 to the chest pad with one end and each being rotatably coupled to a respective one of the first and the second movable units; and driving means (47,48,51,52) arranged for, when in operation, driving the first and the second movable units back and forth in opposite directions such that the chest pad cyclically compresses the patient's chest.

  • Publication number: 20120052470
Abstract: A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) simulation load capable of simulating a reactive force of a patient's chest upon chest depression, the cardiopulmonary resuscitation simulation load comprising an active actuator (M) arranged to generate at least part of the reactive force, and a controller (CTRL) arranged to provide a control signal to the active actuator. A CPR simulation manikin comprising such a CPR simulation load is also proposed. Furthermore, a method for simulating a reactive force of a patient's chest during cardiopulmonary resuscitation by means of a simulation manikin, the method comprising: measuring a depression of a simulation manikin chest; calculating a resulting reactive force depending on the measured depression of the simulation manikin chest; applying the resulting reactive force to the patient's chest by means of an active actuator.

  • Patent number: 4680038
Abstract: A filtering apparatus for separation of solids from a solid carrying fluid arranged in a housing and having a material flow inlet. The housing is divided into an upper collector chamber and a lower area by an intermediate separating wall. One or more candle filters made up of two concentrically arranged metal fabric filter cylinders defining an annular space therebetween the arranged in a material flow area of the housing and may be surrounded by an immersion tube. A plurality of Laval nozzles are arranged above each candle filter in the collector chamber and are utilized for producing an enhanced injection reverse flushing effect to remove solids adhering to the candle filters. The annular cylindrical configuration of the candle filters greatly enhances the filtering surface area.

  • Patent number: 4046822
Abstract: An improved ethylene oxychlorination process wherein the unreacted ethylene in the process off-gas is dried and reacted with chlorine in the presence of a non-reactive liquid to form ethylene dichloride, (1,2-dichloroethane) recovering the ethylene dichloride. The improved process includes a method for drying the gas by contact with ethylene dichloride.
