Abstract: A portable optical disk player utilizes an optical disk to provide a language-learning function. The optical disk player comprises a processor, an optical disk reading device, a screen, a keyboard and an audio output device. The screen is mounted on the front surface of the portable optical disk player, whereas the cover for accessing the optical disk is mounted on the rear surface of the portable optical disk player. For the purpose of learning a language, a user can input commands or data to the processor, and then textual or image information is displayed on the screen. Audio information can be output through an audio output device.

Abstract: The specification discloses an auto-backup system for portable electronic devices implemented in a system comprising a portable electronic device and a network server. It includes an input module, a network connecting module and a backup management module. The input module receives a backup request entered by a user. The network connecting module establishes wireless signal communications between the portable electronic device and the network server after the input module receives the backup request. The backup management module transmits at least one set of data stored in the portable electronic device to the network server. After the network server receives the data, a backup I/O module stores the data in a network database. An auto-backup method for portable electronic devices implemented in the above-mentioned system is also disclosed herein.

Abstract: The invention provides an auto file opening system, which is implemented in an electronic apparatus including a storage device for storing a first table and a network connection device. The network connection device connects to a web server, which stores a second table. The auto file opening system according to the invention includes a table search module and a file opening module. The table search module searches the corresponding relationships between the application and the extension from the data stored in the first table and the second table automatically when a user wants to open a file. The file opening module runs the application according to the corresponding relationship between the application and the extension to open the file.

Abstract: A system of installing a driver of an expansion card on a portable electronic device is disclosed. The system includes an expansion card receiving means, a driver storing means, a computer connecting means, a network connecting means and a driver manager. The expansion card receiving means receives an external expansion card. The driver storing means installed in the portable electronic device stores at least one driver. The computer connecting means provides means for the portable electronic device to connect to a computer device storing at least one driver. The network connecting means provides means for the portable electronic device to connect to a network. The driver manager automatically obtains a driver that can allow the expansion card operate normally from either the driver storing means, the computer device or the network. The invention also discloses a method for installing a driver of an expansion card on a portable electronic device conducted by the aforementioned system.
