  • Patent number: 5683199
Abstract: An end tip for an elastic-cord-connected compactable tubular assembly (14). The tip has an insertable body portion (10) which acts as the elastic cord retainer. Because of two longitudinal channels (11) and a connecting cross hole (12), the tensioned elastic cord (13) is doubly locked and anchored onto this insertable portion of the end tip with no knots required for attachment. The locked portions of elastic cord (13) also act as a wedge to secure the end tip within the ends of the tubular assembly (14) during use, yet allow the tip/cord to be removed by hand for repair of the tubular assembly, or for elastic cord retensioning or replacement.

  • Patent number: 5201598
Abstract: A locking sleeve (14) for holding the tensioned, internal elastic cord (22) of a compactable, collapsible tubular assembly (12-10) comprises a resilient member (14), in the shape of a slit tube. It is held in position within the tubular insert of the compactable, tubular assemblies by external barbs (16). The elastic cord is in turn held in position within the locking sleeve by an internal tongue (20) and prongs (18).

  • Patent number: 4795165
Abstract: An archery arrow which can be compacted to a smaller size by folding and which can be opened to full size rapidly and easily. The arrow consists of a tubular shaft of two sections: A female front section and male rear section. The male rear section has a tubular insert extending from its front end which telescopically mates with the rear end of the female front section. An internal elastic cord connects both front and rear sections, and allows the shaft sections to be separated and folded, and to be quickly "snapped" together and joined into an extended, ready position for shooting in a bow. The folding arrow incorporates a standard tip, nock and fletches or vanes.
