    Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes receiving a message indicating that updates are available for a wireless device. The method further includes assigning a software policy for the wireless device, and based on the software policy, transmitting a notification to the wireless device indicating that the updates are available to download. The method further includes receiving a universal resource locator (URL) indicating a location of the updates, and subsequently downloading the updates from a web-based software server.
