  • Patent number: 7380379
Abstract: This invention resides in explosion-resistant walls, panels and partitions, particularly for use around buildings, works of art, public places, and so forth, and wherein, in certain embodiments, may include textures and/or graphics to disguise and/or beautify the structure. In terms of a typical construction, the system includes a plurality of vertical metal pipes, with a portion of each pipe being preferably buried several feet below the ground surface, and a portion of the pipe remains exposed above ground. Two or more horizontal metal pipes are interconnected to the vertical metal pipes, creating apertures that are filled with explosion-absorbing panels. In contrast to “explosion-proof” panels, which require sufficient strength to remain in tact in the presence of a blast, the infill panels according to the invention some form of attachment mechanism which “gives way” in the presence of an explosion, thereby effectively absorbing the shock.

  • Patent number: 6817478
Abstract: A modular office cubicle system includes multiple vertical members each having lower ends designed to rest on a floor. Multiple horizontal members extend between the vertical members such that the vertical and horizontal members cooperate to form a skeletal work cubicle at least partially surrounding a work area. Structural connection fittings removably interconnect the horizontal members with the vertical members. Removable and replaceable polymerized sheathing surrounds at least some of the vertical members and some of the horizontal members. A generally planar work top may be supported by some of the members in a generally horizontal position.

  • Patent number: RE43233
Abstract: The present invention provides a cart corral assembly of the type employed by stores, such as grocery stores, to encourage the consumer to temporarily store grocery carts in the parking lot before bringing the cart within the store structure. The cart corral includes a first set of two spaced apart vertical rails in a base support extended between these rails. The base support supports the vertical rails in an upright position. At least two spaced apart horizontal rails are provided and are removably engaged with the vertical rails in a position abut above the base support. The horizontal rails form an obtuse angle with the vertical rails. A second set of two spaced apart vertical rails are provided opposite the first set of vertical rails and are removably engaged with the horizontal rails. A second base support extends between the second set of vertical rails and supports the vertical rails in an upright position.
