  • Patent number: 8144606
Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a network device for interfacing a host with a network are described. One example network device includes a transmit path, and a receive path. A loopback path connects the transmit path and the receive path. A frame detection logic is configured to monitor network traffic on the transmit path to identify loopback frames. When a loopback frame is detected, a loopback logic routes the identified loopback frame onto the loopback path and then to the receive path. The rerouted loopback frame may then be received by a host or an embedded client from the receive path.

  • Patent number: 8095089
Abstract: A method and apparatus for calibrating a device. The method includes: selecting a first power level at which a device is to transmit a radio frequency signal; receiving a radio frequency signal having been transmitted from the device based on a predetermined calibration value associated with the first power level; measuring a power level of the radio frequency signal transmitted from the device; based on the measured power level of the radio frequency signal, adjusting the predetermined calibration value associated with the first power level so that (i) a measured power level associated with a radio frequency signal transmitted from the device based on the adjusted predetermined calibration value falls within a predetermined range of the first power level; and based on the adjusted predetermined calibration value, calibrating each predetermined calibration value for a plurality of power levels other than the first power level.

  • Patent number: 7881680
Abstract: Apparatus for calibrating a transmitter of a first integrated circuit, the transmitter being capable of transmitting a signal at N different transmit power levels based on N respective calibration values stored in the first integrated circuit, wherein N>1, the apparatus having corresponding methods, comprise: a power meter to measure a received power level of the signal transmitted at one of the N power levels; and a calibration circuit comprising an adjustment circuit to adjust the calibration value for the power level until the received power level of the signal falls within a predetermined range, and an offset circuit to replace each of the calibration values for the N?1 remaining transmit power levels based on the adjusted calibration value for the transmit power level and a respective predetermined offset from the adjusted calibration value.
