  • Patent number: 5105671
Abstract: A well pumping unit utilizing a walking beam that is longitudinally adjustable in length in order to vary the ratio of the length between the fulcrum point of the beam and the end of the beam connected with a pump rod as compared to the length of the beam between the pivot point and the point at which force is applied to the beam to oscillate it about the pivot point. By telescopically adjusting the walking beam and at the same time moving the power unit connected with the walking beam, the beam can be balanced to enable minimum energy to be applied to the beam to operate a downhole pump. The length of the connecting rod which connects a rotating eccentric powered by a power unit to the walking beam is adjustable in length to compensate for variations in movement of the pump rod resulting from longitudinal adjustment of the beam.

  • Patent number: 4884838
Abstract: A combined air foil and loading ramp for a pickup truck which includes a mounting bracket attached to the upper edge of a pickup truck tailgate with a rigid panel connected thereto for positioning in downwardly and forwardly inclined relation when the tailgate is in a vertical, closed position, positioned in overlying engagement with the upper surface of the tailgate or extending rearwardly from the upper edge of the tailgate in a generally horizontal position to form a loadbed extension when the tailgate is in a horizontal open position and extending downwardly and rearwardly in an inclined direction to form a loading ramp when the tailgate is in downwardly inclined relation to the loadbed of the pickup truck.

  • Patent number: 4705275
Abstract: A pair of closely spaced juxtaposed first and second panels including relatively straight and parallel corresponding marginal edge portions are provided. An elongated narrow strip panel extends longitudinally along, transversely between and joined to the parallel marginal edge portions of the first and second panels by integral "living" hinges. Marginal walls or curbs are supported from one of the first and second panels and extend between the latter. The spacing between the first and second panels is slightly greater than the thickness of a domino game piece and the panels are swingable to positions coextensive with the narrow strip panel.

  • Patent number: 4657273
Abstract: A longitudinal frame is provided having upper front and rear end portions, a first stationary wheel supporting fork is dependingly supported from one of said portions and a second wheel supporting fork is oscillatably supported from the other frame portion for angular displacement about an outstanding axis. Rotatable mechanically operated power input structure is journaled from a lower intermediate length portion of the frame and drivingly connected to the wheel journaled from the first fork and the upper front and rear end portions of the frame have an oscillatable steering control and a stationary seat supported therefrom. The oscillatable steering control is operatively connected to the second wheel supporting fork and the rotatable power input structure includes a transverse horizontal shaft drivingly connected to the wheel of the first fork and having oscillatable pedal cranks operatively connected thereto through ratchet mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4586879
Abstract: A well pumping unit for use in association with an oil well, water well or the like having a downhole pump operated by a reciprocating pump rod with the pumping unit including a pair of large diameter rotatable wheels independently supported from upstanding supports on a deck, platform or skid with the wheels being interconnected by a pin to which a cable for operating the pump rod is attached. The cable is entrained over a series of pulleys and anchored to a supporting structure with one of the pulleys being a traveling pulley having a cable attached thereto extending over a head pulley and connected with the pump rod for reciprocating the pump rod when the wheels are rotated. The pin interconnecting the wheels is received in one of a plurality of radially spaced pairs of openings to enable the stroke of the pump to be varied by varying the radial position of the pin in relation to the rotational axis of the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4249605
Abstract: A secondary oil recovery method and system utilizing a concentric tank arrangement receiving crude oil from an oil well in the inner tank thereof with the crude oil being heated by a solar furnace to facilitate separation of water, oil and gas with the water being disposed within the outer tank for insulation of the inner tank and for use in an injection well for water flooding with the gas being removed from the inner tank from a dome trap at the top thereof and separated oil being moved to a storage tank or other point of use from the inner tank. The solar furnace includes heat exchange tubes disposed in the inner and outer tanks and oriented in relation to a heat collector panel and provided with a heat exchange medium therein by which solar energy is used to heat the crude oil in the inner tank as well as the water at the bottom thereof and water in the outer tank.

  • Patent number: 4174752
Abstract: A method for heating recovered crude oil at the site of recovery thereof and injecting at least a portion of such heated crude oil back into the oil formation in order to reduce the viscosity of oil remaining in the oil formation, the invention facilitates recovery of the remaining oil and renders the oil more easily handled through pumping operations. Apparatus according to the invention particularly provides for solar heating of a working fluid circulating through a closed heat exchange coil disposed within a crude oil storage tank located in proximity to one or more operating wells and normally used for temporary storage of oil pumped from the wells. Heat energy carried by the working fluid in the closed coil is transferred to the crude oil within the storage tank, the heated crude oil being then pumped back into the oil formation to heat the remaining oil in the formation, the viscosity of the remaining oil being reduced to allow a greater total recovery of the oil in the formation.
