  • Patent number: 11078776
Abstract: A caliper-arm-retention mechanism for a caliper tool is disclosed. The retention mechanism includes a selectively movable retention sleeve and a pivot arm that cooperate to constrain relative translational motion between the pivot arm and a caliper arm pivotally engaged with the pivot arm while at the same time allowing relative rotational movement of the caliper arm and pivot arm. The retention sleeve may be selectively repositioned using a threaded nut configured to push the sleeve toward the pivot arm or pull the sleeve away from the pivot arm, depending on the direction of rotation of the nut.

  • Publication number: 20090321364
Abstract: In order to filter a solution containing nanowires, a flow of the solution is generated and directed through a passage defining an aperture having a narrow width. Alternatively, a flow of the solution may be generated and directed over a micro-structured surface configured to filter the solution.

  • Publication number: 20080306512
Abstract: This is a chiropractic adjusting table which makes correction of spinal misalignments in 1st thoracic through 5th lumbar easier on the doctor and patient and also does a better job than existing manual adjustment tables. It is new and revolutionary to the delivery of the chiropractic and/or osteopathic adjustment procedure. The uniqueness of the slant provides a mechanical advantage to quickly and easily correct misaligned vertebra. It provides a unique leverage advantage to gently adjust bones back into their proper position.

  • Publication number: 20070244213
Abstract: Multiple emulsions of the water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) type and processes for their preparation are disclosed. The multiple emulsions contain an oil phase comprising a mixture of: (i) a polysiloxane (S) which is a chain extension reaction product of a polysiloxane (S1) having reactive end groups, and (ii) a hydrophobic material (H) which is miscible with polysiloxane (S1) and with polysiloxane (S). The multiple emulsions allows for the entrapment and controlled delivery and release of water-soluble active ingredients.

  • Patent number: 7074064
Abstract: A multiple contact electrical connector for interconnecting multiple power and/or communication transmission lines is provided. The invention is particularly useful in wet environments. The electrical connector includes male and female connector assemblies. A male pin assembly having a plurality of annular contacts is configured to repeatedly engage and disengage with a female socket assembly having a corresponding plurality of ring contact assemblies. Various exemplary embodiments further include retractable members deployed for sealingly isolating the annular contacts and the ring contact assemblies from fluids exterior to the male and female connector assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20060111452
Abstract: An emulsion of an organo-functional polysiloxane is prepared by emulsifying a silanol-functional polysiloxane (I) in water, adding an organofunctional silane of the formula X-A-Si(R)n(OR?)3-n(II), where X represents an organic functional group; A represents a divalent organic linkage; each R represents a hydrocarbyl or substituted hydrocarbyl radical; each R? represents hydrogen or an aklyl or acyl group; and n=?, 1 or 2, to the aqueous phase of the resulting emulsion and reacting the —OR? groups of (II) with the silanol groups of the polysiloxane (I) to form the organo-functional polysiloxane.
