  • Publication number: 20030072919
Abstract: A surface covering and a method of manufacturing such surface covering is disclosed. In one embodiment of the present invention, the surface covering includes a film having a print layer forming a pattern or design disposed on one side of the film. A discontinuous gloss layer is disposed on the other side of the film substantially in-register with at least a portion of the printed pattern or design. Additionally, the gloss layer has at least one portion thereof which has a gloss level different from the side upon which the gloss layer is disposed. In another embodiment, the surface covering has a film and a discontinuous gloss layer disposed on one side of the film. The gloss layer forms a pattern or design and at least one portion thereof has a gloss level different from the side upon which the gloss layer is disposed. A surface texture is mechanically embossed into the film substantially in-register with the pattern or design of the gloss layer. Optionally, a web may be laminated to the surface covering.

  • Publication number: 20030072295
Abstract: An improved system is achieved in a cellular arrangement where mobile units employ a moveable slot TDM approach to send packets to base stations, and where the base stations use a non-contention approach. When a base station transmits information packets to different mobile units, it merely queues the packets and transmits over a given channel. In a corresponding inbound channel, the mobile units transmit packets to the base station using the MSTDM protocol. The base station also transmits information regarding whether the inbound frequency is occupied by a signal that is being transmitted to the base station, or whether a collision exists. A collision on an inbound frequency occurs when more than one signal is simultaneously transmitted on the inbound frequency. On an additional control channel that is shared by all base stations, the base station sends information in a TDM fashion.

  • Publication number: 20030074263
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are disclosed for managing an office product supply chain utilizing a network. A network is utilized to receive data from a plurality of office product outlets of an office product supply chain in which the data relates to the sale of office product by the office product outlets. An electronic order form is generated based on the data for ordering office product from an office product distributor of the office product supply chain. The data is transmitted via the network to the office product distributor of the office product supply chain. The data is also transmitted to an office product supplier of the office product supply chain utilizing the network. Additionally, activity in the office product supply chain is forecast utilizing the data.

  • Publication number: 20030072389
Abstract: Precision inphase/quadrature up-down converter structures generally neither requiring trimming at the time of fabrication nor calibration during use. The converters use four mixers arranged to down convert to provide Q, I, {overscore (I)}and Q baseband signals (or up convert Q, I, {overscore (I)} and Q baseband signals), the combination of which signals has a very substantially reduced unwanted image frequency content. The use of an increased number of mixers in effect shifts the primary errors from absolute gain and phase errors, to gain and phase error mismatches between elements in replicated circuits, which mismatches can be held to a minimum in circuits replicated in a single integrated circuit.

  • Publication number: 20030074603
Abstract: An automation system wherein fault conditions are identified by providing clearer fault messages. The system is defined in terms of components, and further in terms of inputs, outputs, and functional relationships between the inputs and outputs, wherein inputs include potential fault conditions associated with the components or functional elements. Weighting factors are associated with the fault conditions to identify the most likely cause. Functional relationships are developed using libraries of generic components that are used to create a diagnostic program during an off-line phase (410). Model functions (412) are determined and coded according to a suitable coding language (414). The resulting program is passed as a diagnostic model (426) operable of use in an on-line phase (420). The diagnostic model (426) provides input to an object engine (430) that is operational during the on-line phase (420), and receives specific inputs (424) and outputs of selected information (422) during operation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20030074239
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are disclosed for managing a supply chain utilizing a network. Data is recieved from a plurality of restaurants of a supply chain utilizing a network. This data relates to the sales of goods by the restaurants. An electronic order form for ordering a plurality of goods is then generated based on the data. The electronic order form is subsequently transmitted to at least one supply chain participant of the supply chain utilizing the network. Further, information relating to at least one of operations in the above process for managing the supply chain is tracked by the restaurant.

  • Publication number: 20030070401
Abstract: A novel method and apparatus of detecting unique items as they are inserted into a product packaging system that is easily adaptable to current product packaging and prize insertion systems. A number of different types of sensors may be used in conjunction with the insertion device to detect the unique prize before it is inserted into a product packaging system. The sensor used will vary depending on the particular application. Sensors that may be used include a capacitive proximity sensor, a thickness sensor, a reflectivity sensor, a transmissivity sensor, a stiffness sensor, a color sensor, or even an odor or chemical sensor. Ideally, the type sensor used will detect a feature of the unique item that is easily distinguishable from other items being inserted. Once the sensor detects the prize and generates a signal, this signal can be used to perform a variety of useful functions.

  • Publication number: 20030073883
Abstract: A heart muscle irrigation device comprises a short rivet like member with one closed and one open end, and a barrel including a plurality of holes, slots, an area mesh, or a grid. The irrigation device is inserted into the heart muscle so as to provide a channel from, for example, the left ventricle, to provide an adequate oxygenated blood supply to a starved muscle. The irrigation device is inserted from either outside or inside the rib cage by an insertion device. The insertion device comprises a plunger and barrel assembly adapted to contain the irrigation device. The tip of the insertion device includes members adapted to penetrate the heart muscle. If the irrigation device is inserted through an insertion into the rib cage, an applicator comprising a tubular member with a planar tip including a soft elastomeric seal can be used whereby a portion of the heart muscle is held more or less rigidly for the short period during which the irrigation device is inserted.
