  • Publication number: 20220341061
Abstract: The invention relates to a cellulosic fibre loaded with a biologically active substance formed by the steps of: a) producing a cellulosic fibre loaded with ion exchanger, b) after-treating the fibre thus produced with an aqueous solution of a metal salt which exhibits antibacterial activity and/or antiviral activity, and c) after-treating the loaded fibre with an aqueous fixing solution to convert the metal salt into a water-insoluble form. The cellulosic fibres thus produced can be used to form textile fabrics, wound dressings, sanitary products, specialty papers, packaging or filter materials.

  • Publication number: 20100124861
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of cellulose shaped bodies according to the dry-wet extrusion method (Lyocell method) with high degree of whiteness and bioactive action for use in the textile sector and paper production. In the context of the invention, the term “bioactive” refers to antimicrobial efficacy, based on the antibacterial action of the element silver, which is used as nanoscale reagent for increasing the efficacy thereof. The chemically inert and, at the same time, bactericidal effect is used in the production of sports and leisure clothing with a high degree of whiteness and papers with a long shelf life. Use is possible in the medical sector, for example, for wound dressings, textiles for hospitals, and in the filter and packaging industry.

  • Publication number: 20090309256
Abstract: The invention stabilizes spinning solutions used to produce cellulose composite molded bodies incorporating functional materials by the dry-wet extrusion method. The invention incorporates active materials detrimentally affecting the spinning process and materials which are unstable in the cellulose spinning solution, using separate active material and cellulose streams. The active material stream is produced, stabilized and stored separately and mixed with the cellulose stream directly before the forming apparatus, for example, a spinning bar. The active material stream includes amine oxide, functional materials, additives and water. The cellulose stream includes cellulose in amine oxide. The inventive method avoids heat build-up in the moulding or spinning solution, produces cellulose molded bodies with an adequately high degree of polymerisation and excellent functional properties and restricts the decomposition of the amine oxide.
