  • Publication number: 20110220848
Abstract: The invention relates to a method (20) for processing (1, 2) a glycerol-containing feedstock mixture (G) to produce an intermediate (I), suitable for use as a feed to a pyrolysis process. Additionally, the invention relates to a method (10) for generating a hydrogen-containing product mixture (H) from the intermediate (I) by means of pyrolysis (3), and subjecting the pyrolysis product (P) to reaction (4). In accordance with the invention, the processing (1, 2) proceeds under at least partial vaporization (1) of the feedstock mixture (G) by thin-film evaporation, obtaining a vaporization product (V).

  • Publication number: 20090151254
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing a hydrogen-containing product gas (4) from a glycerol-containing feedstock (1). A product gas (4) is produced from the glycerol-containing feedstock (1) by separation of undesirable substances (V) and the pyrolysis of glycerol (P).

  • Patent number: 5444169
Abstract: The conversion of formaldehyde and acetylene in the presence of a suspension catalyst to butynediol is usually performed in a cascade of reactors, wherein the separation of the catalyst from the product solution takes place per individual reactor. This can be performed by filters installed in the reactor or by suitable filter apparatuses outside the reactor. A part of the catalyst present in the reactors can be drawn off and replaced by regenerated and/or fresh catalyst. The catalyst drawn off from the reactors can advantageously be fed to a regeneration. The replacement of the catalyst in the reactor can take place discontinuously or continuously. In the reactors of the cascade, a catalyst amount of 50-200 g, preferably of 75-125 g, per liter of reaction solution is used.

  • Patent number: 4717397
Abstract: In a PSA process, an adsorber loaded with adsorbable components is first expanded to an intermediate pressure and then subjected to a first purging step at this intermediate pressure. Thereafter, the adsorber is subjected to additional expansion to the lowest process pressure and optionally a second purging step.
