  • Patent number: 11024755
Abstract: A solar cell with a heterojunction is produced. A first amorphous nano- and/or microcrystalline semiconductor layer is formed on the front face of a crystalline semiconductor substrate to form front face emitter or a front face surface field layer. A second such layer is formed on the rear face of the substrate to form a rear face surface field layer or a rear face emitter. Electrically conductive, transparent front face and rear face electrode layers and a frontal metallic contact layer grid structure are formed. Surface selective frontal PECVD deposition forms an electrically non-conductive, transparent dielectric front face cover layer and with such a thickness to form a closed layer directly on deposition, without additional heat and/or chemical treatment, only on the areas surrounding the frontal contact layer grid structure but not on the frontal contact layer grid structure. Finally, a rear face metallization is formed.

  • Publication number: 20150101659
Abstract: A hetero-contact solar cell has a front side provided for an incidence of solar radiation. The solar cell has an absorber of a crystalline semiconductor material of a first conductivity type, an amorphous semiconductor layer of the first conductivity type doped more highly than the absorber and an electrically conductive, transparent front side conduction layer provided on the amorphous semiconductor layer. A front side contact is provided on the solar cell and has spaced-apart contact structures. An emitter of a second conductivity type opposite to the first conductivity type is provided on a back side. A back side contact is arranged on the back side. The emitter-related absorption losses of the solar cells can be eliminated by the back side contact having a back side contact layer extending over the surface of the back side, and the front side conduction layer containing a specific resistance from 7×10?4 to 50×10?4 ?cm.

  • Publication number: 20090014063
Abstract: A single-side contacted solar cell and method for production of a single-side contacted solar cell provide a direct arrangement of a contact grid on one side of an absorber layer. A free surface of the contact grid is coated with an electrically non-conducting insulation layer. An emitter layer is deposited on a whole surface such that the contact grid is arranged between the absorber layer and the emitter layer. The emitter layer is provided with a contact layer. For back face contact, the emitter layer is arranged on a back face of the absorber layer to avoid additional absorptive losses.

  • Publication number: 20080156370
Abstract: A heterocontact solar cell in a layer structure. The solar cell includes an absorber made of a p-type and/or n-type doped crystalline semiconductor material. The cell also includes an emitter made of an amorphous semiconductor material that is oppositely doped relative to the absorber. Also included is an intrinsic interlayer made of an amorphous semiconductor material between the absorber and the emitter. The cell includes a cover layer on the side of the absorber facing a light. A first ohmic contact structure including a minimized shading surface on the side of the absorber facing the light and a second ohmic contact structure on a side of the absorber facing away from the light are also included.
