  • Publication number: 20050072757
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method of controlling a turbulent flow of a fluid between a substrate and a template, and more specifically, controlling a turbulent flow of a fluid between droplets disposed on a substrate and a template. To that end, the method further comprises the ingression and egression of the fluid through a first and second aperture, and in a further embodiment, a plurality of apertures, to create such a turbulent flow of the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20050072755
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method for reducing pattern distortions in imprinting layers by reducing gas pockets present in a layer of viscous liquid deposited on a substrate. To that end, the method includes varying a transport of the gases disposed proximate to the viscous liquid. Specifically, the atmosphere proximate to the substrate wherein a pattern is to be recorded is saturated with gases that are either highly soluble, highly diffusive, or both with respect to the viscous liquid being deposited. Additionally, or in lieu of saturating the atmosphere, the pressure of the atmosphere may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040130764
Abstract: An angle tunable thin film interference optical filter for wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing. The optical filter may be used in an OADM to drop one or more target channels from an optical signal without interfering with any channels between a starting channel and the dropped channels. During tuning, all of the channels in the optical signal are expressed. In one embodiment of the optical filter, a filter is fixedly coupled to a tiltable filter stage. Reflections from the filter are collected by a corner mirror for reflection back to the filter. In another embodiment, a plurality of optical elements are coupled to rotationally coupled carousels. In another embodiment, tunable thin film interference optical filters are coupled to rotationally independent carousals for expanded wavelength coverage.

  • Patent number: 5835153
Abstract: An apparatus for capturing and decoding the teletext data from a television signal and displaying the teletext data, along with the video picture, in a windowing environment on the monitor of a personal computer system. The teletext data decoder retrieves the lines of teletext data stored in the frame buffer with the rest of the video frames, decodes the teletext data in software and stores the teletext characters directly in system memory for further processing and display in user-defined windows on the PC monitor.

  • Patent number: 5543842
Abstract: A method is provided for generating a composite video data stream. A first data stream composed of a sequence of frames of video data each having an x-dimension of a preselected number of pixels and a y-dimension of a preselected number of pixels is received. A second data stream composed of a sequence of frames of video data each having a x-dimension of a preselected number of pixels and a y-dimension of a preselected number of pixels is also received. The x- and y-dimensions of the frames of the first data stream are downscaled to produce a sequence of first blocks of pixels. The x- and y-dimensions of the frames of the second data stream are downscaled to produce a sequence of second blocks of pixels. The first blocks are written into a first object buffer associated with a first memory space during first and third ones of four processing phases using a set of counters associated with the first object buffer.

  • Patent number: 5539465
Abstract: A method is provided for generating a plurality of displays from a composite video data stream comprising a plurality of frames each including two portions, a first portion of each frame containing data defining even fields of respective first and second displays and a second one of the portions of each frame containing data defining odd fields of the first and second displays. During first and second phases of a set of processing phases, data defining the odd and even fields of the first display are extracted from each received frame. Also during the first and third phases, the extracted data defining the odd and even fields of the first display are written into a first object buffer. During second and fourth phases of the set of processing phases, data defining the odd and even fields of the second display are extracted from each received frame. Also during the second and fourth phases, the extracted data defining the odd and even fields of the second display is written into a second object buffer.

  • Patent number: 5539464
Abstract: A method is provided for displaying data received as a composite video data stream, each frame of the composite data stream being composed of a field of data defining a first video display and a subsequent field defining a second video display. The composite video data stream is received and during first and third phases of a set of processing phases, the fields of data defining the first video display are stored in a first object buffer in memory. During second and fourth phases of the set of processing phases, the fields of data defining the second display are stored in a second object buffer in memory. During the first and third phases, the fields of data stored in the first object buffer are retrieved to generate the first display and during the second and fourth phases, the fields of data stoned in the second object buffer are retrieved to generate the second display.

  • Patent number: 5455626
Abstract: A method is provided for generating a output composite video data stream. During a first phase of a set of processing phases, a frame of first video data is received and then downscaled to produce a first block of data. Also during the first phase, the first block is stored and then retrieved from a first memory space. The first block is next upscaled and then output as a first field of a composite video data stream. During a second phase of the set of processing phases, a frame of second video data is received and downscaled to produce a second block of data. Also during the second phase, the second block of data is stored and then retrieved from a second memory space. The second block is next upscaled during the second processing phase and then output as a second field of the composite video stream.
