  • Patent number: 7910845
Abstract: A modular racking system for an electrical switching apparatus is provided. The modular racking system includes a carriage assembly structured to support electrical switching apparatus and at least one cam follower structured to be removably coupled to the electrical switching apparatus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 2007
Date of Patent: March 22, 2011
    Assignee: Eaton Corporation
Inventors: Aaron T. Kozar, Frankie K. Ostrowski, Paul R. Rakus, Lawrence T. Connor, David M. Olszewski
  • Patent number: 7826233
Abstract: A cassette matrix having a first cassette and a second cassette disposed immediately adjacent to each other is provided. The outer sides of the cassettes are in contact and there are no fastener components, such as, but not limited to, a bolt head or nut, disposed between adjacent sidewalls. In this configuration, the cassette matrix requires a reduced amount of space within a larger housing assembly. Each cassette utilizes threshold mounting fasteners to coupled any components to the lateral sidewall. A threshold mounting fastener does not extend outwardly beyond the general plane of the lateral sidewall.

Date of Patent: November 2, 2010
    Assignee: Eaton Corporation
Inventors: Lawrence T. Connor, Frankie K. Ostrowski, Raymond P. Gundy, II, Aaron T. Kozar
  • Patent number: 7800920
Abstract: A housing assembly and a support rail and extension rail assembly for an electrical switching apparatus includes various components. The support rail assembly is, preferably, a cast plate-like body wherein selected components, such as a levering in mechanism lug and support rails are formed as part of the casting. The extension rail assembly includes a generally flat, elongated body having a finger notch that is sized to accommodate a gloved hand and a mounting slot. The extension rail assembly is coupled to the support rail assembly by a pivotal mounting that extends through the mounting slot. The extension rail further includes a lateral extension. The housing assembly includes an L-shaped cutout having a horizontal portion and a descending vertical portion. When the extension rail is in a storage, or first, position, the lateral extension is disposed in the L-shaped cutout.

  • Patent number: 7646271
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes an enclosure with a first side and a second side opposite and distal from the first side. A number of separable contacts are enclosed by the enclosure. An operating mechanism is structured to open and close the separable contacts. A plurality of terminals are electrically interconnected with the number of separable contacts. The terminals protrude through the second side of the enclosure. A number of phase barrier apparatus is disposed on the second side of the enclosure. Each of the number of phase barrier apparatus includes a plurality of separate phase barrier members, each of which is disposed about a corresponding one of the terminals, and a number of interlocking members. Each of the number of interlocking members interlocks with an adjacent pair of the separate phase barrier members.
